October in Review (Patreon)
Content
And another month has gone by! I can't believe how fast the weeks fly by. I want to thank you all for your (continued) support. This month sure was a special one! We celebrated the 2 year anniversary of this Patreon community 🥳
November will be a special month too though, I'll be launching something really awesome, which I have been working on for months (the idea actually came up in January, so it took me a looonnggggg time) and I'll also be sharing a brand new brush pack with all Master Students in November (some of you might have seen some previews in my Lens Stories 😉)
October was also a special month on a personal level. I have sold my house and bought a new home in Amsterdam. We'll be moving in April/May! I'll turn the closet under the stairs into a studio, so I'll be a bit like Harry Potter 🤓 I also want to make a live session set up there, so in the Spring/Summer I'll start with special Patreon live streams. I can't wait!
But for now, let's review everything that happened tutorial wise in October, if you have missed something, you can just follow the link to check the tutorial.
NOTE: All Master Students will get a new discount code for November in their email inbox, it'll be send through Patreon. If you can't find it, be sure to check you spam folder.
Tutorials
We started the month with this stylized landscape, in which we started with a black and white illustration and then later added the colors. During this tutorial we made use of the chalk brushes.
Next up was this advanced tutorial in which we painted this beautiful snake. We played around with depth of field and tested our patience with the scales 🤪
In October Design Cuts celebrated their 7th Birthday! I joined them for a live session in which I showed 7 tips to improve your portrait paintings. I shared the pre recorded version here at Patreon.
Taj Mahal - YCDT Patreon Exclusive
This month I created the first You Can Draw This - Patreon exclusive video! Just like the YouTube You Can Draw This videos, but then exclusively for you. I hope you enjoyed it. Want more of these? Let me know!
We ended this month with an intermediate to advanced level tutorial in which we painted this golden ring. We used the selection tool to create crisp looking facets for the gem and used the basic brush set to create a realistic looking ring.
What's coming in November?
Lots of awesome stuff is coming up in November! We'll start off with the brand new owl tutorial, it should launch in a couple of days and is advanced level. But I'm also working on a new Skillshare class which will launch in November. Of course it will be available to all Eager Learners and Master Students!
I might also make a new You Can Draw This - Patreon edition and I want to work on a new portrait painting video, in full color this time.
I can't wait for the month to start! As always, feel free to reach out to me in case you have any questions, want to share something or just want to chat. I love hearing from you, you are all great!
Please stay safe and healthy and keep creating!
