In this 2 hour video I will show you the process of painting this rainy street scene, mostly using the chalk pencil. I will demonstrate how you can use the perspective guide and how you can use the selection tool to create crisp edges in this scene. We'll also be using a color dogde brush to add light in this scene, I've added the brush to this post.

There aren't a whole lot of colors in the color palette, I mostly used the color picker to pick local colors. You can always just open my working file if you want to grab colors, I'd advise you to pick your own colors though, it's a great exercise! You can find the working file here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fIJkgpq_3WarNTrErSUtQ6_dJ-wXNbPw/view?usp=sharing

I've also added the reference image I used, you can find the original photo and the photographer here: https://christophejacrot.com/portfolio/in-the-mood-for-rain/

This is gonna be fun! The last tutorial I did when I had free time and energy was the snake and that baby took me 3 hours so a 2 hour tutorial is gonna take me a good bit of time, haha. Looking forward to it!

Thank you for doing this, and sharing the psd and brushes with us. I LOVE THIS. Learned so much about rain flections, and using the color dodge to add a nice glow to the lights. I’ve put in 10 hours so far, and STILL not done! But I’m learning loads, and am loving every second of it. 😁

I can’t seem to find the block brush is there any brush similar to it so I can use that one?

Art with Flo

It should be in the brush set attached to the post, but you can also find it in the DropBox folder with all the other brushes that are used in tutorials: https://www.patreon.com/posts/44839717 Be sure to use a browser when you try to download an attachment though, the Patreon app doesn't let you download post attachments.

Autumn

Thank you found it!

Before I set out to try this today, I spent 30 - 40 minutes on the photographer's website. LOL. Amazing work. Now back to this project...
