Tutorials

Watercolor Foodtruck

We started this month with a fun watercolor foodtruck illustration. We used a variety of reference images to reach our result, making something stylized and cheerful. It sure gave me summer vibes!

Learn to Sketch! - Lesson 3 - Line Weight

This month's sketching class was about line weight! How can you add variety to the line weight in your sketches and drawings and where should the light and heavy lines be? I added special exercise files for you.

Flo's Fundamentals - Painting Fur

Flo's Fundamentals was all about painting fur this month. I showed you how you can approach different types of fur and did a demonstration with four different types.

Stylized Easter Illustration

Finally, we did a beginner level tutorial in which we created this stylized easter bunny illustration. In the video I showed you how you can create a harmonious color palette yourself.

What's coming in April?

In April you can expect new classes for Flo's Fundamentals and Learn to Sketch of course! We'll be learning about adding interest to your sketching and in the Fundamentals class I'll show you how you can approach painting rocks. I will also share a realistic tomato painting class and another cute illustration tutorial for beginners!

I also have a new Special Offer in April! It'll be a bit different, it's from a new project I'm working on. It'll be a bundle of tutorial ebooks, next month all Master Students and Eager Learners will get a sneak peek. They'll get the first tutorial ebook from the bundle of five (which are still in the development phase and will launch in a couple of months).

On a personal note; last month I got the key to my new home, so these are busy days! I'll be moving in at the end of April, so these are busy days. It's also very fun and exciting though 😊

Don't forget that you can always check the OVERVIEW page for an overview of all of the tutorial content.

Congratulations on getting your new keys! Don’t over do yourself!

Thank you! I’m doing my best, but it’s even more hectic than I had expected. It’s a challenge to coordinate everything, with so many people working on my home (floors, bathroom, walls, etc.). I’ll be happy when everything is finished :)

Wow, I am behind. Teach me to agree to an extra semester. Congrats on the new house! That is so exciting. And stressful. Every time I move, I always think, "Where did all this STUFF come from? How long has it been here?"

Art with Flo

Thanks so much! I've been living in the same house for over 14 years, so yeah, I have a lot of stuff to go through that I haven't touched in ages 😅 It feels great to start with a clean slate though.

Ha just did my first sketch ever (I think) lol. It's messy but it felt kinda cool. I could get used to this.
