I guess you haven’t liked me for many years then, I’m sorry to hear that. I believe blockchain technology is the future and the way internet will be used will change drastically. I believe it will make the world more fair and efficient and offer great opportunities for many people around the world.

I wasn’t aware you did NFTs. I am going to be removing my pledge for next month, nothing personal. While blockchain is very useful and will ultimately revolutionize security and how we use things, at the moment the environmental impact they create to generate wealth cannot be ignored, I hope in the future we find a way to implement NFTs without destroying the environment

I’m sorry to hear that. They are constantly working on improving their processes to make less of an environmental impact. I think there are more environmental benefits that come with blockchain technology actually. Improved efficiency in supply chains is one of them, but also efficient distribution of energy. The impact the technology can have on third world countries is tremendous. Of course there are people abusing the technology for their own gains, but that is common in all areas of course. I’ve been researching blockchain technology for many, many years now, and I’m a firm believer. I think it can actually play a great role when it come to saving the climate (if it’s not too late already).

I would really love to see your sources for efficient energy distribution, third world country impact and how they can be used to save the environment, as a recently graduated Computer Science student, I have never heard of these uses for blockchain.

Thanks for sharing. I believe more and more marketplaces will switch from proof of work to proof of stake. I think changes in blockchain technology go way faster than the changes in big companies that have a great environmental impact as well. I remember a time when downloading a song through Napster took way more energy than listening to a song through Spotify and artists get their fair share now ;) I trust in the future of NFTs and blockchain technology, but only time will tell I guess.
