Here's  the second Pick a Ref video tutorial! Thank you all for submitting a reference image and voting in the monthly poll. Don't forget that you can send in one reference image every month through the special Discord channel. At the end of the month I'll make a new poll with the favorite photos from August (if your favorite wasn't picked last month, feel free to submit it again of course).

Original photo by Steve Roe: https://www.redbubble.com/people/phrames/works/31098852-incheon-rain-2 Please make sure to credit the original photographer when sharing your work.

I hope you'll enjoy this video! I must say this was quite the challenge and this is definitely advanced level. I was so nervous starting this project, but I hope you'll like it. At the end I made some minor adjustments which I recorded using screen recording, it's often hard to work on tiny details and colors when using studio lights.

I have attached a color palette and my working file in case you want to take a closer look.

Remember you can find all brushes through the content page for Eager Learners and Master Students: https://www.patreon.com/posts/44839717

I love love LOVE Neon lights!!!!! It always gives me a cyberpunk vibe. Do you think it is possible to have more tutorials relates to neon lights or cyberpunk?

I found an other way because i dont know why it doesnt work. Maybe its a question about a version of the ipad or the procreate ?

Art with Flo

I haven't heard of any issues like that. Always make sure to open the post to see the files at the bottom of the post, or try using a different browser.

Wow I love this, and I learned so much in this one. Especially using perspective! Thanks for sharing your "struggle" with us all to see that we all can be intimidated at times. I greatly appreciate all you do for your followers!

Art with Flo

Thank you Michelle! I'm happy you enjoyed it :D

Omg, I am so sorry I picked something so insanely challenging 😅 I could feel your struggle! But I think you did a great job! I followed the entire tutorial and really love the result. I learned so much - the perspective, making the colors look neon, even drawing cars🤣 Thanks so much for making this video! You have alot of patience haha, I had to spread this tutorial over two whole days, in the end I couldn’t see sharp anymore, so many details! But I loved the challenge and it motivated me a lot to practice more of this art style! 🤩 Thanks for all you do for us!

Art with Flo

Haha, no problem! I'm so happy you enjoyed it! :D

Food for thought... Have you ever considered using Pexels to get your reference pictures? Have a great day!

Hi Flo. I’m almost to the end of this tutorial and I don’t seem to have all the chalk brushes you referenced when you were trying to find the right one to do the street. I have a set of Flo Chalk Brushes but there are only 5. I looked through several links on here and cannot seem to find if there is an updated set. What am I missing?

Art with Flo

Hi Christine, Could you tell me which brush is missing? Then I'll be sure to add it to the DropBox folder. Thanks!

Christine Saunders

Hi Flo. OK I have 6 Chalk Brushes and you have 16 in the video. The ones I don’t have I dont see in the drop box, and I also could not find a post where you had updated the brush set. Here are the ones you show but I don’t have: SOFT EDGE FADED, ROUGHIE, ROUGH LITTLE STICK, ROUGH ROUND, SUBTLE CHALK, SUBTLE TEXTURE, ROUGH SQUARE, BIG CHALK TEXTURE, WAXY and HATCHER. Thanks

Please make sure you check the right folder, they are in the ' attached to tutorials' folder

I loved this tutorial so much. Thank you! I started drawing a couple of months ago, so I‘m still a beginner and it took me a week to finish this. But it turned out so great and I‘m so proud of it!

Art with Flo

This sure is a challenging one, so you should definitely be proud of yourself. I'm happy you enjoyed the video ❤️
