Wow, December is already upon us! The year went by so fast. It's always a great time to look back and think about the future at the same time. I've had some great talks this month and had some good opportunities to reflect. I was invited by Patreon for a panel talk for instance (for the Creator Conference) and met Loish (you might know her art) and Charlotte Wessels (a Dutch singer). It was great to be able to talk to fellow female creators. As soon as things get better Covid wise here in the Netherlands, I'm sure we'll schedule a dinner together :)

But for now, let's look back on the tutorials of this month (click the titles to go to the tutorial directly)! I shared a beginner tutorial on how to draw a snowflake for instance, but of course I also shared another Pick a Ref tutorial and an assignment feedback video.

Of course we also launched a new You Can Draw This XXL this month, all Eager Learners and Master Students who joined before the end of November 2021 have received it. Of course you can also get it in my store. The results I have seen so far were amazing!

Pick a Ref - Bottle of Mist

Last month a picture of bottles of mist was picked in the Pick a Ref poll. I have shared a video in which I show the process of painting these bottles, adding wood texture to the boxes and creating the mist.

Beginner Tutorial - Snowflake

Using the symmetry tool and a couple of brushes, we have created a lovely snowflake/ice crystal. You can have so much fun creating these!

Assignment Feedback

Thanks again for sending in your assignment work! I have created a feedback video for you, giving tips and ideas on how to improve your work. You all did such a wonderful job painting eyes :D

What's coming in December?

First of all you can expect the tutorial made from the reference image you voted for and the feedback video for your assignment of course! I will also be working on a brand new You Can Draw This XXL! It'll be given to all Eager Learners and Master Students who join before the end of December 2021. I also have some fun beginner level tutorials in store for you in December, we'll start with a fun perspective illustration in which we'll also use photo textures and layer blending modes.
