Let's dive into realism with this more advanced tutorial. We'll use a reference photo to paint this realistic looking rose. I'll show you the steps from sketch to finish.

I have attached a color palette that I created along the way and the reference photo (as always, make sure to use a browser like Safari or Chrome when downloading, the Patreon app won't let you download attachments unfortunately).

I'm looking forward to seeing your results! Will you share them in the Flocreate Community? (JOIN HERE if you haven't already) Have fun!

Hey Flo - this one looks amazing :) i dont know if this is the right place. I saw a few videos on youtube (f.e. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/b3XaJGQtJ3s) about dual colour acryl flowers and they look stunning. Do you think there is a way to draw in a similar style in procreate? :) have a nice evening :)

I wouldn't know how to create a brush that would create that effect to be honest 🤔

Okay :) thank you for your thoughts. This was my fear too, but i thought if someone know if it is possible or not - you are the one who knows it :)

When you were creating your color palette for the picture, why did you not do color picker from the reference photo?

That is a painting style called One Stroke. It was really popular a couple decades ago and did make really beautiful flowers. Be interesting to see if you could do something similar with procreate brushes that do multi colors. There are some free ones out there as well as videos on how to make your own. Google dual color procreate brushes. I did find one artist that says she has brushes that do paint in the one stroke style but brushes are very expensive.

Picking your own colors is a great exercise, also, picking colors from a photo usually makes you end up with a less vibrant, more muddy piece.

I tried my best with this one, I'd really love some feedback 🥹
