Hi everyone! I have to say that this quickly became one of my FAVORITE films and one that I will probably rewatch once a year just because it's that great. It's one of those movies that leaves you staring at the wall for an hour afterwards questioning reality 😅Thank you for your support here on Patreon! as i am working right now, i didnt watch with you but i just put my headphones on and played the movie in my head based off your reactions. very intense movie and i love your intense emotionality and connections to what you partake in. ive been a fan only recently and saw your "life is strange" videos... havent left since. you are awesome!!

SoFreshSoGreen

Loved the reaction, I responded the same way on my first watch. This movie is definitely in my top 5 for sure. One of my favorite story beats of the movie was Mann's (aptly named) character. He was supposed to be the best of humanity as the pioneer and leader of the Lazarus Mission, but he also embodied the worst part of it as well. His incredibly selfish actions jeopardized the entire mission because he couldn't stand being lonely and irrelevant.

Really really enjoyed this full watch-along! Getting to experience this masterpiece again, with your reactions, WITH the full force of the music blasting during all of it. So good! Especially everything coming together during my favorite sequence in the film that I always rave about haha. Thank you for all the hard work you put into these. I know it can't be easy sitting and being so present, and so detailed with all your thoughts during such a long movie. It's very much appreciated!

kaliwali

Movies like this make me wish I could put the music into my reaction because without it, it just doesn't do it justice! The score in this entire film was a masterpiece.. I can't wait until December to hopefully see it in the theatre. It has to make it so much more powerful and amazing. I'm jealous of the people that got to see it in theatres for the very first time lol

One of my favourite movies ever. Finally found the time (and proper tissue supply) to watch this one again after all those years, and having your reaction on screen2 was a wonderful experience, thanks for this! It's such a gem of a movie, the performances are incredible, the visuals quite literally mind-bending and the score is, well, Hans Zimmer magnificent (still have no idea how BioWare managed to get him aboard for the next Dragon Age...have to tear myself away really hard from the idea of him and Mass Effect...that would be some dream). I also really liked the design of TARS and his robo buddies. It's always neat when the designers look past just making a humanoid robot and instead come up with something very different. And I obviously loved Brand's speech. I think she's right. Love transcends space & time and probably everything else this universe would like to throw at us. It makes us brave, fills us with hope, and is our one superpower that can save the world.

I posted this on your YouTube channel last week and enjoyed it so much... here I am. I am 54 years old and this is my favorite movie of all time. As another commenter has said, this movie tears your heart apart if you are a father. But, I also feel it heals you with hope and an expansive love. There is a massive amount of science and potential quantum physics in this movie (LOVE IT) that pulls an intellectual viewer deeply into so many different thoughts, that you can spend a GARGANTUAN amount of time deciphering these many aspects our universe. I also thoroughly enjoyed your reaction and opinion of this masterpiece in cinema. Much Love, Kali.

kaliwali

I love your use of Gargantuan LOL. I'm glad you loved this reaction! This was 100% a masterpiece. I think the best part is exactly like you said, though-- There is so much factual science and physics in this movie that it leaves us with so many open-ended theories and discussions. I'm hoping that it comes to a theatre near me in December like they originally planned for the 10 year anniversary. I'd absolutely love to see this in the theatre!

This was such a good movie to rewatch along with your reaction. I still remember watching this in theaters when it first came out. This remains one of my most favorite movies of all time. Kip Thorne, a Theoretical Physicist who was a Scientific Advisor to this film, wrote The Science of Interstellar to help explain the phenomena shown in the movie. It's a good book to read.

kaliwali

Ooo I'll most definitely be checking that out! Thank you

Only just joined your channel and loving your reactions. Keep up the fab work and much lubs from Phill in the UK

2026-09-07 13:00 I saw this in theaters back in 2014 when I was 22 and I wasn't really sure what I was getting into. I still feel like the experience was so overwhelming that I was kind of dumbfounded and huge aspects of it just didn't fully connect. I liked it as a movie - you know, the effects and the music and performances and sci-fi ideas - but it didn't "hit" me, if you know what I mean. But I keep returning to it, and each time, that emotional core becomes strong and stronger. It's still an overwhelming experience every time, but I'm better equipped to deal with that now, the rush of emotions of hope and loss and love. There's so many ideas at work here, all of them somehow connected by this thread of generational love for one's children, it's so beautifully moving. Plus, there's about 6 or 7 sequences in here that are just astounding cinematic moments.

I love this reflection! This is definitely one of those rare films that really grows on you even over time. I've rewatched this movie twice now since this first initial viewing and I love the deeper messages that I keep finding in it. You're so right- there are definitely multiple sequences here that feel like pure cinematic beauty. It's awesome how Nolan and Zimmer crafted something that isn't just visually stunning but also so emotionally powerful in a way that just keeps you in that moment. At my theatre near me, they are showing a film about Zimmer called: Hans Zimmer & Friends: Diamond in the Desert. It shows some of his live performances and Interstellar is included in that! It's in March and I can't wait to go see it in a theatre where I know it'll be bumping haha.

Came back to watch the unedited version, such an incredible movie. Hope you do more of these where you update them to the unedited versions but no pressure.

Enjoying your reactions. If you liked this movie I think you would really love Arrival (2016)

kaliwali

I have that one on my list! Hopefully I can check it out sometime soon!

Amazing movie. Heartbreaking at times but such a beautiful ending. Hans Zimmer did a fantastic job with the music once again. This is the second time I watch it I remember after the first watch I was completely mentally exhausted (I struggle to find the correct words) I went straight to bed even though it was early. Love your reactions btw.

Ask Hans Zimmer to create a score without letting him see any of the film, this is what you get. Not too shabby, huh? What a great movie to start this community.

So excited that you’re switching to the current format for older reactions 😀

I had watched this movie on others reactors channels without watching the whole movie first, and now that I watched your reaction to it, I just have to reiterate my love for christopher nolan films. Great reaction!

i remember watching this in IMAX and the docking scene had me on the edge of my seat!

kaliwali

IMAX must have been incredible for this movie!!

Chenou Yang

Yes!! It definitely was. My brother and I went on opening weekend so it was quite the experience. It made me want to go to space!

I finally got around to watching this tonight with your reaction. Kali, your reactions are simply the best. The emotions, the thoughtful commentary, everything. I was watching this while playing XCom2 and my wife came in to say goodnight, and see saw you on the other screen and she said, "oh, I like her, the crying girl. She's not annoying like that other lady you watch." LOL...I won't name who's talking about, just say that she reacts on one of those bigger channels and she's currently watching Friends. LOL But back to this reaction. This film is one of the best films I've ever seen. I just recently watched a YouTube video a couple days ago about how they postulate that Intersteller isn't about space, it's actually about God. I don't want to post the link, but if it interests you, you'll find it if you search for that. It's only a week old, but it was very, very interesting, and what struck me was that you mentioned how this movie was more spiritual for you, and I just finished watching this thing about how they believe the movie is subtly about God. Thanks again for all your reactions. It's a privilege to support you here on Patreon.

There is nothing more dangerous than a coward. It was genius that they chose Matt Damon for the part because he almost always plays the average good guy so most people didn’t see his betrayal coming. I love that Mann ends up, basically getting exactly what he is most afraid of, floating in the darkness, silently and completely alone. Although this film isn’t at its core about people‘s fears it does have a component of that running thru it. For Cooper at least and for me as a parent the idea of my kids thinking that I abandoned them to die alone so I could survive is one of the most horrible things I can imagine. The scene when his daughter asks if Brand and Cooper knew was painful to watch. That would break me if it was my daughter.

As a Veteran of the US Air Force. I was stationed in Montana. Thats where a good portion of the nukes are … so if you are ever in a field and find a gate. this will happen. see gate go other way . LMAO Awesome move. i hope they put this back in theaters.
