I finally watched the second half of this INTENSE story (with correct subtitles this time.. iykyk) Volume 1 was such an explosion of revenge, swords, and blood spraying literally everywhere. So I definitely went into Volume 2 expecting more of the same. Instead, this volume really slowed everything way down. The story became quieter. Heavier. Less about spectacle and more about people. About choices. About consequences. About the strange, complicated love and hatred that boils inside all of these characters. It definitely felt like Tarantino split this story into two different halves.Vol. 1 being the fury. And Vol 2. the reflection that comes after. This film was SO dialogue heavy. But in a way where you can't stop listening closely. Every conversation was loaded with meaning. Characters circling each other like chess pieces. They all revealed bits of philosophy, personality, and vulnerability with each line. The long pauses, lingering shots, and moments where the tension felt almost suffocating because you just know something is about to go down... Tarantino wanted us to sit in that this entire film. And visually... wow.The imagery in this entire movie was so beautiful and captivating. Stark desserts, dimly lit trailers, dusty roads, and the intimate close-ups of every face. It almost felt mythic at times. Like a western mixed with martial arts, but add angry burning revenge.Tarantino really is a true artist.Even when parts of his films make my skin crawl, I can't deny how fascinating it is to watch the way his mind works. The tone can swing so wildly from one scene to the next. One moment being deeply philosophical, the next shocking me to my core. And somehow it all works together so well! That unpredictability is something I really enjoy about his directing. I never quite know what kind of scene will be coming at me next. Where the journey will take me. And this movie constantly keeps you off balance in the best ways.By the end of Vol. 2, the story felt less like a tale of just pure revenge and more like a strange emotional journey about motherhood, love, betrayal, and closure. It was messy, uncomfortable at times, philosophical, violent, and just plain weird honestly. But it all somehow came together into something that felt so human.Tarantino may not always make films that are easy to watch and stomach... but he absolutely makes films that are impossible to forget. Which one should I watch next!?Thank you for your support on Patreon!Relax and enjoy 🍿🌿SYNC ALONG LINK: https://youtu.be/6c968hi24NoI watched this on Amazon (Rented)

As much as I love both volumes of Kill Bill, and as much as I dislike criticizing any movie that a cast and crew has poured their heart, blood , sweat and tears into, I do have one tiny critique of this..... And, in fact it isn't a criticism of the film itself, but I have to firmly agree and stand in the Tarantino camp of believing that Kill Bill SHOULD have been one movie. Although I can genuinely understand why the studio would have been reluctant to greenlight a movie that exceeded 4 hours for a cinematic release, the film that Tarantino both planned and filmed ( often regarded to as "The Whole Bloody Affair" ) would have made a far better experience had it been kept as one single movie...even despite the obvious difference between the two halves in terms of action orientated to dialogue orientated. Yes, it works as two films but I just believe that one 4 hour cut would make for a more satisfying experience. Regardless of that, this is still a fabulous film and I'm so glad you decided to watch this and share it with us Kali. I've said many times before that you and your videos are the sunshine that continually bring the daylight to our dark evenings and it truly brings joy to us all when a new upload lands here on Patreon or over on YouTube. Add to that the genuine pleasure it is to read your exquisite write ups here and I can honestly say that every notification I get for a new reaction is a moment of excitement, a moment of happy smiles and a very real highlight of my life....thank you. As far as which Tarantino movie to experience next, my favourite of his films has always been "The Hateful Eight".... it's a magnificent film that I think you'd enjoy in the way that his movies can be enjoyed. Wishing you and your family and of course Pixel and Remy a wonderful weekend full of sunshine, laughter and happiness.

Correct subtitles 😂 I’m glad you finally circled back to this one. Looking forward to watching your reaction The coffin scene does make me feel claustrophobic though 😬 As far as other Tarantino films, I’m partial to Inglorious Basterds or Jackie Brown

Nomyrose

BTW Fun Fact: The actor who plays Roanoa Zoro (Mackenyu) is the son of Sonny Chiba a.k.a. Hattori Hanzo from Kill Bill!!

Joe

I am looking forward to this reaction and still mad at Amazon for messing up your experience with the first. Please watch Inglorious Basterds next. It could be my favorite movie overall. And all the things you love about Tarantino are best illustrated in that movie.

KJ

I've not seen Jackie Brown for a long time but remember enjoying it. The only other Tarantino I'd recommend is Inglorious Basterds which is - without spoiling - a fictional fantasy fulfilment drama set in Nazi occupied France.

The ghost of Master Fatman

So it turns out Tarantino also famously hated him wearing that hat on set, and he secretly told the guy playing Buddy's boss to throw in a line about it, so Michael Madsen's reaction is genuine there

Nina

I need a reaction to "Inglourious Basterds"!!

Dave Hill

Inglorious Basterds gets my vote for your next dive into a QT movie. There are other great ones as well, but I've always loved that one. More great acting and incredible dialogue!

The $64,000 Question is a reference to an old quiz show of that same name. It was very popular in the 1950s until it was revealed to be a scam because some contestants secretly received the questions in advance. Robert Redford directed an excellent film with Ralph Fiennes and John Turturro based on the events called Quiz Show.

Al Batista

My favorite Tarantino movie is True Romance. He didn’t direct, but he wrote it. It’s directed by Tony Scott, who directed Top Gun, and has an all-star cast that rivals Pulp Fiction. It’s also, oddly, not well known. I know you will absolutely love it, and so will your fans.

rubberkidney

prob inglorious basterds next, maybe django, maybe once upon a time in holly wood, hateful 8? possibilities are endless. dont forget about weird edge cases like from dusk till dawn.

ButtercupsTrueLove

Rock salt can be purchased at supermarkets. It's used along with crushed ice when using a household ice cream maker to hasten the phase change. Purportedly, rock salt can be loaded into shotgun shells instead of buck shot or bird shot to ward off 'varmints' that might be raiding a chicken coop or a vegetable garden. If fired from any sort of distance it shouldn't be lethal but salt in a wound will burn like you might imagine. I like seeing the classic VW Karmann Ghia in Tarentino movies. It's such a beautiful little car from a maker previously only known for utilitarian vehicles. EDIT: Daryl Hannah still has both of her eyes. No eyeballs were plucked out during the making of "Kill Bill Volume 2".

Mister Lou

No the eye ball toe jam was wild! And I think that chapter was called "Elle Driver and I" 😆 😂

pinkdino99

I'm still a much bigger fan of the first Kill Bill, but this has grown on me over the years. Bill calls her Kiddo in the very first scene of both movies ! Perla Haney-Jardine (Bibi) is 29 this year ! Michael Madsen insisted on wearing his own hat despite Tarantino's vehement and abusive insistence not to. Which explains the scene where his boss tirades him for wearing it to the club. More Tarantino ? I'd suggest you go to the start. Quentin has written two movies. He sold one True Romance to Tony Scott (Top Gun... Ridley Scott's brother) for $50k and used that to make his first movie Reservoir Dogs. - True Romance is a bonkers action romance movie with an ensemble cast and is an absolute riot, and fan fave - Reservoir Dogs is a heist movie with an ensemble cast and also features Michael Madsen

pinkdino99

Kali will love the vide and music of Jackie Brown !

pinkdino99

That's Larry Bishop. He made and starred in a crazy movie called Trigger Happy/ Mad Dog Time with Jeff Goldblum and an ensemble cast. It's really quirky and funny, and has become a cult classic over time.

Boba Fettuccine

This was a lot of fun to watch! I remember watching this one in the theater when it first came out and I've seen it lots of times since, but that burial scene still gives me chills.

Black_TYGR

let’s gooo! 🙌🔥💯

Dufore

Love the grit and almost hyperbolic fight scenes Tarantino contrasts with weighty dialogue. His films do a fantastic job instilling that palpable tension that at times makes you want to jump out of your seat and start pacing. My vote for next Tarantino film has to go to Django Unchained but honestly I'd be pumped to see any of them.

Dude Longcouch

I know it's been a while since you watched Volume 1 so I'm not sure if you remember, but now that you know The Bride's real name is "Beatrix Kiddo," that gives a bit of context to the dialogue from the first movie when she confronts O-Ren at the club and O-Ren says, "Silly rabbit, tricks are for kids." :p

TheJoeKerr

My favorite dialogue from this movie is the Superman/Clark Kent comparison with other superheroes. The speech is kinda based on a real one from a 1965 essay by Jules Feiffer. It was a controversial take on the Superman. Fans argue that Superman is at his core, Clark Kent. It is interesting Tarantino would use that to have Bill describe Beatrix.

Wil Castillo

The name, Beatrix Kiddo, was not mentioned in Volume 1. However, her name did appear on the boarding pass when she goes to Okinawa. They also threw in the line: "Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids."

Steve G

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Out of both of them, the first one is my favorite one as well, but I do love both. Down the line, you could watch the Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair film, it's both films combine and adds a little extra along with anime sequences. The next Tarantino films you should check out if you haven't is Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained.

MadIcelander

Full name not mentioned, correct, but she was called "kiddo" a couple of times in both movies, including by Bill in both movies. We all just took it as a slang nickname like "buddy" or "pal" lol.

Michael Enos

you are still going to have to wade through some gore...but I think it's worth it...and I actually think the next film you should check out is True Romance. It stars Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette(and it's stacked with some other notables), QT wrote the screenplay, but Tony Scott(Top Gun, The Last Boy Scout) directed. Then watch Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction for starters.

Robert da Spruce

Tarantino really is a master of dialogue! All his films have incredibly engaging dialogue. Where it can be both fascinating, and mundane at the same time. There’s rarely epic monologues. But instead, you get everyday conversations that you might have with your friends. Which gives the characters an authenticity. Where you no longer see a script or the writers hand You missed the “a.k.a Mommy” at the end though. I thought you would have liked that Tarantino famously worked in a video store when he was young. Where he watched thousands of movies. You can really see that influence in his films, where he often incorporates many of his favorite genres like westerns, Kung fu films, samurai movies, etc… Inglorious Basterds or Jackie Brown would be my picks for your next Tarantino film

Jonas Vanderstraeten

Another great reaction! I'm also more a fan of vol.1, though I do also like vol.2 alot. For the next Tarantino I think the popular choices would be: Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained, both absolute brilliant movies in their own right, BUT, I do also would like to divert your attention to Jackie Brown. It appears less frequent in the top 5 lists or when talked about Tarantino, but it remains one of my favourites. It has the best music, a good story and that brilliant Tarantino touch.

James Park

I think Perth is the Australian version of Ohio

Walker

Love how you always appreciate the classic cars. What is your dream car?🚘

kaliwali

omg LOL excellent callback!

James Park

From dusk till dawn should be your next Tarantino film

Dan Gonya

, I don't know if anybody said this, but the shotgun was full of rock salt when Bud shot her, so it wasn't fatal, just painful.

Jacob

Did the cartoon really say the mag pie is gentle? Those birds are evil and attact at random. It's funny to watch though

Jacob

I seen Django on you're l your screen you should definitely watch that

DSJ.

Am I the only one who wanted Beatrix and Bill to run off into the sunset with their daughter together?

Ray

Shogun Assassin is a hardcore violent martial arts flick.

Ray

Speaking of Superman, Man of Steel is a must watch if you loved the Dark Knight Trilogy. Like the Dark Knight Trilogy, it has an all star cast, a great superman, a scary villain that's a real threat, music by Hans Zimmer, top notch visuals and its a more realistic take on if Superman existed in the real world.

Ray

Even if you aren't talking it's ok because your non verbal facial reactions says more than words can ever say.
