Wow. Where to even start with these two episodes? I finished them feeling completely shattered.. I felt stuck in a state of reflection and shock even way after I finished my outro with you guys. But I've never been more ready to watch more Daredevil than I was after this!
First off, that stairwell fight scene?? YES 🔥It brought me right back to the hallway fight in Season 1. The fight that hooked me to Daredevil to start with. Where Matt is dragging himself through wave after wave of traffickers just to save that one boy. Back then, every punch felt like it was exhausting. By the end he could barely stand. Stumbling, gasping, running on pure desperation. And now? You can feel how much he's changed. How stronger he's gotten. He moves like someone forged from pain and experience. Stronger, faster, sharper. Those chains, the absolutely deranged duct-taped gun to his hand LOL.But honestly? The fights weren't even the part that sent me here.It was the conversations. The rooftop conversation between Matt and Frank felt a bit biblical. The way it unfolded. Two hurt men staring into the same darkness and settling on different conclusions. They are so alike. Both wanting to protect people from what happened to them. Both furious at the cruelty of this city, of this world. Both of them knowing that the system abandons the innocent and silences the darkness for its own monetary gain. The difference is that Matt still believes there are lines that can't be crossed. While Frank believes the line itself is meaningless. To Frank, crossing it is the only thing that gets real results anymore. And the scariest part? Frank makes sense. You can see it in Matt's face, too. He's listening, absorbing it, fighting it yes but deep down we know he has asked the same questions. Come to the same conclusions. Frank gets under his skin so much because he KNOWS he speaks the truth. He speaks the dark voices that Matt hears more loudly every day. It feels like Frank let something inside of Matt run free. Like for the first time, Matt is staring at the possibility that maybe morality isn't enough. Then the graveyard scene happened and I shattered.Frank talking about his family.. One batch, Two batch. Penny and Dime.I genuinely don't know how to explain what that scene did to me. It's one of the most powerful speeches I've heard in a very long time. Not just in Marvel. But in my entire reaction journey so far. The acting, the writing, the stillness and rawness of it all. I was in that graveyard. I was with him as he picked up his daughter from school. I felt the exhaustion and the "not today" energy like it was my own. He's monstrous and heartbreaking at the same time. A man. Hollowed out by grief until vengeance became the only thing left to keep him going. And I'm a huge Punisher fan now 😅And I think Matt is too. He sees him. He understands his mission.I don't know if Frank completely changed Matt. But he's absolutely forcing him to see the world through that harsh lens more clearly now than ever. Justice isn't clean. Morality can blur the edges when pain becomes too much. Maybe the world is far more gray than Matt wants it to be. Maybe it's too far gone. But part of me hopes that Matt still clings to his conclusion. His way of doing things. Because if not.. who will he become?I can't wait to keep going with this Season.
