These episodes were absolute chaos underneath. The kind of chaos where nobody is screaming or exploding, but you can FEEL everyone slowly falling apart. Screaming and exploding internally.Frank refusing the deal after seeing Reyes has me questioning everything. The second he saw her, he shifted. You could immediately tell something was wrong, something goes much deeper than revenge or pride. Whatever happened between them clearly broke something inside of him. He called her a straight up WITCH. Now I'm dying to know the full story because his reaction said more than words ever could.Karen has honestly become one of my favorite parts of this season. Which is a complete shock to me after how I felt about her in the beginning of the first one LOL. I love how much empathy she carries. How on her toes she is. She smells trouble from a mile away and has incredible instincts. She sees humanity underneath the monster everyone else points at. I think that's why Frank finally opens up around her differently than he can with anyone else. His confidence in her was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time..But emotionally, these episodes really centered around Matt. He's unraveling. You can feel it. And it's because of Elektra. The flashbacks of their relationship are fascinating and honestly terrifying. I honestly don't love Elektra. She genuinely feels like the devil sitting on Matt's shoulder. She pulls him in further and further away from the version of himself that's trying to hold it all together. The version that still cares about justice, cares about human life, cares about Foggy & Karen. She feeds the darker part of him. The anger. The recklessness. The thrill of violence and smashing things for fun. The temptation to stop caring so much. And that worries me.It worries me because she's not entirely wrong about him. We've seen it. We've been told about it since Season 1.The Murdock boys got the devil in them.

You can tell Matt still believes he is different from that life with her. That he can and did choose restraint and morality and balance. But there's clearly a part of him that DOES understand Elektra. A part of him that thrives in the chaos she brings. And I think that scares him almost as much as it scared me watching it.Because then there's his growing relationship with Karen. And with Karen, you can see the life Matt WANTS to live. Something real. Honest. Stable and gentle and sweet. The kind that doesn't take her up to bed immediately. But he's trying to build that with so many secrets. He keeps shutting Foggy & Karen out while also wanting to be close to them. Foggy is exhausted. Karen is being left completely in the dark. And Matt.. He just keeps sinking deeper into this now double life where nobody really fully understands him anymore.I feel really sad for Matt right now. He feels torn between these two versions of himself. The more Elektra pushes him, the more worried I am about where he'll end up at the end of this season. You can see him slowly losing pieces of himself while still trying to convince everyone (even himself) that he's still in control. And I'm so stressed for him..Because secrets always come out.One way or another. It's only a matter of time.Thank you for your support on Patreon!Relax and enjoy 🍿🌿SYNC ALONG LINK: https://youtu.be/YpWyJWXktckI watched this on Disney+

Here we gooooo It's fucking DAREDEVIL time fam! 💪

The ghost of Master Fatman

Elektra was referenced in season 1, episode 11 in the flashback to their college years, Foggy teased Matt for taking Greek because of a pretty girl.

I think the best and closest way to explain elektra without spoiling anything would be think her like Talia al ghul from Batman rash’s daughter basically same person different universes but there is more depth than that like I said I won’t spoil

Andrew Crabtree

I will also say if your going down the Logan/wolverine movie story there is an elektra movie with Jennifer garner it’s not widely received or accepted but it is part of Logan’s story and in the future when get towards the end of Logan’s video run you will understand just like with some of the marvel movies Thor then avengers just a thought

Kaitlyn

in the comics Elektra is basically Matt's MJ

Trey Goldsworthy

I think Frank does know Matt’s Daredevil because of his voice but won’t blah about it even to Karen and Foggy in case they don’t know cause he respects him.

Ah, DareDevil! Just what I needed right now... Also, great synapsis, thank you for sharing, especially the closing words! 🤍🔥

Idk if it’s just me but I feel Karen & Matt starting a relationship kinda came out of nowhere but rewatching S1 you can definitely see from Karen’s side she had affection for Matt & I guess the sweet moments with Karen that Matt was around for added up to maybe some off screen stuff for it to develop this far. I like Elecktra she gives the Catwoman & Black Cat ( one of spidey’s love interests ) vibes but I can totally see all sides of emotionally damaging everyone is being , Matt is a hypocrite to a point lol. Like he is Daredevil & loves it but constantly contradicts himself with trying to do his lawyer job cause he believes in the law so much but it’s a failing system. I feel bad for Foggy like they’re trying to get by but they keep getting into these situations that aren’t safe. I do like how Matt was just honest with Elecktra once she figured it out he didn’t even deny it. I am curious if we’ll see Stick again cause Elecktra is very smart, can fight & figured out from Matt’s abilities when they were younger that he was DD

We’re close to episode 8 which is one of my favorites. Let’s goooo

Ricky

Terry In the UK

I was trying to think of something I could say to praise this show or my gratitude for sharing it with us Kali, but in all honesty I cannot wait to watch it and I'm much too impatient to delay pressing play any longer, so I'll just say a simple thank you.

Curtis Andrew

He can't hear books and paper, but he can smell them

Great analysis as always, Elektra is definitely that toxic Ex, that Matt's dark impulses just can't ignore. I think the sad thing about the two contrasting dates, is that with Elektra, Matt was able to be himself, catching things without looking, and generally living free with no lies. But with Karen, while being the healthier relationship choice and with the sweetest intentions, he still isn't being honest and plays up the blind man. Probably because he's afraid of being rejected, the way Foggy and Claire has disapproved of what he's been doing. While Elektra accepts all of him.

As others no doubt will explain, if a Yakuza fails in a task, they would offer up a finger to their lord as a sign of supplication and humiliation (and hope he did not want more !) Why I love Elektra Vol 1 Book 1... Elektra is really really posh, very attractive, wildly chaotic and quite psychotic. This is generally, to my chagrin the type of woman I'm attracted to. In the books there is a Punisher story where he gets an itch in the back of his head and feels someone or something is hunting him. He lays some traps, but whomever it is was too smart for them. And then he realises that its Elektra after him. And he says "Oh no... not her !" And eventually she gets the best of him, and as he lays there under her sai (blade) he asks her why. "Oh... I was bored." And she lets him go. In this episode, seeing her fight in that dress... Yup. My ideal woman. And remember, if DareDevil (comics/ TV/ movie) is about anything... it is about GUILT. So don't be looking for any happy endings.

As Curtis said here (and was kinda briefly mentioned in season 1 at one point or another) Matt had all his -other- senses heightened when he lost his eyesight, so yes he can taste and smell his surroundings at great detail (like how he was able to pinpoint all the tools that were in the emergency first aid kit in the phone call with Claire when saving Vladimir in the streets). Also, not to come off as condescending it's just a little shocking to -me- the way you said "Magoo," have you never heard of Mr. Magoo? He was an animated elderly character during the "classic" era of cartoons in the 1940s; a bald man with comically bad eyesight that gets him in funny scenarios that he always survives through uncanny streaks of luck. I definitely grew up seeing quite a fair share of his shorts as a kid. Wonderful reaction Kali! Can't wait for you to get more of the story! 😁

I do think, just like with Fiona in SpyxFamily, you are being a liiiiiiittle bit too negative to anybody that isn't the main girl to the main character. It's a show, enjoy a little bit of chaos thrown into it, especially with how much fun the actress playing Elektra is having 😁 Also Matt is definitely a bit more gray thhan the classic hero, the name Devil of Hellskitchen didnt come from nowhere

Chad Bushue

This season does a lot of heavy lifting on building on things set up in season 1. And then establishing themes and ideas to come forward in the rest of season 3, The Defenders then on to Daredevil Born Again. Plus these two episodes gives a bit more insight into why Matt represents Peter Parker in No Way Home. Can’t wait for you to keep this journey going Kali, I’m all the way here for it!

Great observation that Matt didn't initially sense Elektra when she broke in! Elektra Nachos 🤣 is a major character in Daredevil comics and had her own series. Before the MCU, she (played by Jennifer Garner) appeared in the Ben Affleck Daredevil movie and even had her own spin-off film. Yeah, I didn't particularly like the portrayal of Elektra here, but I see the appeal. She's completely the opposite of Karen and Matt doesn't need to hide his alter-ego around her.

Frank Castle

Great reaction as always kali! Enjoy your vacation.. When you'll be back the punisher's waiting for you.. 💀🌹

Kristoffer

Man I love Frank Castle and Jon Bernthal!

Mister Lou

Electra nachos! 😂 get in a car thats "not yo's!"

Burak Yağız

Elektra is such a fun character of course she is very problematic but she is just so fun to watch and her dynamic with Matt is just so intriguing

Burak Yağız

Matt’s all other 4 senses are enhanced not just his hearing so he can taste smell really well and even feel the smallest vibrations with his skin so he didnt hear the papers when he was on the mission with Elektra he was probably smelling them

20 16

Well he also can probably also still hear the books . I mean maybe not this version of dare devil yet but at his comic peak he is able to detect the contents of a closed drawer or box by how sound bounces off it from him simply talking or walking.

WackyJacky

This reminded me how much I don’t like Elektra for Matt. I think the actress does a great job but her character irritates me because of the darkness and irresponsibility she brings out in Matt.

Bryan

hard to say what i wanna say without giving away minor spoilers 🤣 W reactions though, i need moreeeeeeee

Amko Basic

It's like a meme at this point that fridays are swedes favorite day of the week and now even more so with marvel fridays. I freaking love this show nad I could easily sit an entire day binging it.

Michael Enos

The Frank Castle/Karen Page relationship is a special one to watch across the different shows.

Sam

Horrible!

kaliwali

OH okay that makes sense lol

eclipse

lol Not Yakuza, you will find out... there is a lot more happening than is seen here... Marvel characters, by and large, are complex and the Defenders more so than the MCU heroes... strap in tight for the second half of the season...

eclipse

Elektra is the best... exactly what Daredevil needs. Her and Frank will get him back on the right track (with a bit of motivation from Stick as well) Oh and we don't need some weak villians like the Yakuza... much bigger fish to fry... :)

Dude Longcouch

As annoying as Elektra is, you have to admit that "You can't mask that ass" is kind of an amazing line.
