WHAT A FINALE 🔥

I knew this arc was going to be important. I felt it from the very first episode. The calm before the storm. The stillness, the eyeballs in the night, the Hashira pushing themselves to prepare for whats to come, the wholesome moments shared between everyone leading up to this point. This entire arc felt like standing at the edge of a cliff, and this finale finally pushed us off. Into the depths of the Infinity Castle.Ubuyashiki completely stole the finale. For so long he has been a quiet, gentle presence. But this finale revealed just how incredible he truly is. Why he suffers from the illness he has. It linked such a vital piece to the story of who Muzan is and where he came from. His conversation with Muzan was one of my favorite moments in the series BY FAR.While Muzan sees death as a weakness and spends his entire existence clinging to life, Ubuyashiki understands that what truly lasts is the will, love, and sacrifices we pass on to others. We pass down through generations. His speech about humanity was EVERYTHING.Ubuyashiki had the upper hand all along. Which was a SHOCK to me.He knew Muzan would come. He knew his arrogance would bring him directly into his estate.Everything. From his sacrifice to the trap, Tamayo's reveal, and the Hashira's fueled assault. It was all a part of this plan he was patiently waiting years to set into motion. For the first time, it felt like Muzan wasn't controlling the board.Ubuyashiki hit him with the Check. But then that ending came. The Infinity Castle being revealed to everyone. It was breathtaking & intense. Watching everyone get pulled into that endless labyrinth while the music blasted into our soul. It felt like Demon Slayer crossed a threshold. The training is done and over. The waiting game has ended. The final battle is officially here. And it's going to be INSANE.Now that we're all in the same waiting boat until Infinity Castle gets here, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who joined me on this journey. It's been amazing and beautiful and intense. It's kind of crazy thinking back now to how I've gotten here. Frieren may have introduced me to anime, but Demon Slayer showed me just how much depth, heart, beauty, and emotion this medium has to offer. Frieren wasn't a one-off like everyone described. Somewhere along the way, anime stopped being something I was trying out and became something I am genuinely obsessed and in love with. This series was INCREDIBLE.I laughed, I cried, I sat stunned in silence more times than I can count lol.Infinity Castle, I'm ready for you!! Or at least I think I am 😅I watched the trailer right after this so I'll be posting my reaction to that soon!

Oh thank goodness, finally! Oh my gosh, what a relief. (yokatta n' shit) All that was heard was a lone "hee hee" crying out through the wisteria forest. Muzan didn't expect to get creepy mogged though. The only reactor I've ever seen to make the connection between the wisteria and the smoke coming off his body! That's the quality reacting I'm here for, kaliwali. But now it's time for...dan da dan dan da dan dan da dan Your hair is looking very light, stylish, and pretty, by the way. I don't know anything about hair, and I don't know if you just did something, but it's looking nice. Alright, Kali, hear me out. I have a copy of Infinity Castle. You could get a copy of Infinity Castle, record yourself watching it, and not edit that copy into the reaction. Surely there is nothing illegal about that. I mean, I guess you're watching it, but listen: they're not going to get you for just watching it and putting up a reaction. You could post it only on Patreon. You already edit it in the full movies and episodes here on Patreon, so don't tell me you're a stickler for the rules. You don't even have to title it Infinity Castle. You can just be like, "Demon Slayer, yinz know." I will do the work of syncing things up on my side. It doesn't have to be like this. There is no sign that the movie is going to get released on streaming anytime soon. I think they're doing a release in Japan(the DVD release—my bad, you mentioned this). Just consider it, is all I'm saying. You could make it Patreon exclusive for the time being, and then when it actually comes out, you can edit the movie in or whatever everyone else is doing. I'm just saying, please, please! You're gonna make me beg.

Kali, I’ve been looking forward to you watching this finale ever since you started this series. Demon slayer may not be a top 10 favorite anime for me, but this episode is one of my favorite anime episodes ever and it truly encapsulates everything that I love about how anime presents its stories. The music, the animation, the voice acting, the art of the characters expressions, all of that comes together in this episode to create a true masterpiece and especially in the sequence with Tamayo and muzan. The interaction between these two is one of my favorite character moments of the whole series. For tamoyo, it was probably the first time she had ever stood up to muzan who had spent centuries manipulating her, he even tried to manipulate her again in that very moment, but she stood her ground in the face of his verbal and physical attacks. One of my favorite moments in the series is her explaining how she never would’ve become a demon if she had known it would lead her to kill her own children, but now that anger toward him has turned into resolve to do whatever it takes to stop him here and now and I love how the music rising to its crescendo in that moment represented her resolve to stop him, even if it meant her death. I’ve watched it dozens of times and it still gives me chills, it was some of the best voice acting I’ve ever heard from tamoyo’s voice actress, you can genuinely feel the pain and rage in her voice that she feels towards muzan. Also, the song the children were singing is a well known Japanese lullaby for the era that demon slayer takes place in. There’s a theory among fans they were singing it and playing because they knew they were about to die and they were trying to remain calm so muzan wouldn’t suspect what was about to happen. Also in Japanese mythology, the tiger and dragon represent the ultimate form of balance, and are also symbols of protection, similar to how the hashira protect people from demons, which is what ubuyashiki was referring to when he told muzan he had incurred the wrath of the tiger and dragon. Lastly, you can find the soundtrack for this season in Apple Music by searching kimetsu no yaiba hashira training arc, it’s by yuki kaijira and go shiina, the soundtracks for after mansion explosion are the last three tracks, it’s just incredible music hope you enjoy it!

One of the most epic finales to a show

Brian Gavorski

I’ve been waiting for your reaction all week

Holy Arathi

The opening of episode 8, as much as I’m not the biggest fan of this season, is the most incredible opening to an episode in almost any anime ive seen. This might be my favorite episode in this show for sure.

Hurrakan

The master's two eldest daughters voluntarily sacrificed themselves in the explosion but the master still has other children that are still alive - a son and two other daughters.

M1 Maz

That was probably the coolest looking, and best sounding animated explosion I've ever seen LOL. And to know who actually created it makes it that much better! I absolutely can't wait for the Infinity Castle movies! This whole series has been such an incredible journey. Literally feels like yesterday that you started it!

Terry In the UK

I know the Infinity Castle movie is fast approaching, but I do not want to accept that the Demon Slayer adventure is over for a little while...if I wasn't an adult, I may have stomped my feet and throw a temper tantrum that Ufotable made such a short season.... even if it was to concentrate on Infinity Castle... Thank you for this journey Kali, I've loved every second ... except possibly the heebie-jeebies inducing spiders )

Tom

This finale is always so epic. The ending is so sickening. Just a giant painful cliffhanger. haha Also unfortunately these movies are going to take forever lol because they STILL haven't released the first movie on digital and it's been out like 10 months or something. Lol just milked it in theatres forever. But i think it'll be out on digital soon. It's definitely PEAK.

Brian Gavorski

So excited for you to watch part one of the infinity castle watching it in theaters was absolutely insane.

Brian Gavorski

It’s not really a spoiler, but you should go back and watch the opening trailer. You can get some very important information just from watching it.

tv tv

One of the craziest explosion effect i've ever seen, seems like ufotable forget they make series, not movie.🔥🔥🔥

Sky Quest Music Official

I cannot thank you enough for introducing some of us us to this show. I've become absolutely OBSESSED with it! The story, the characters, the art, the music...Its truly a masterpiece of a show and soon movie too! The trailer for infinity castle was SO good and waiting for not only this movie but the last 2 of the trilogy is gonna suck because I know they're gonna leave us craving it. Its been a pleasure watching Demon Slayer with you!!! I don't have allot of time in my days anymore to watch allot of stuff so now that we're breaking from Demon Slayer, gonna go back and check out another one of the anime shows your watching!

DorkRunner

You might be ready for Infinity Castle, but I'm not sure I'm ready for it again. q.q

DorkRunner

Lol, it's so funny how much you like Tokito now, because when you were first introduced to him you didn't didn't like him at all and were having a hard time imagining even being able to like him. xD

DorkRunner

You know, the story is framed as though his family was born sickly because of having brought forth a demon (Muzan), but we also know that Muzan himself was very weak and ill prior to becoming a demon. I wonder if there's more to it than a curse, then. I wonder if it's the same kind of affliction.

Tuff

What a crazy finale...as sad as it is to see it end (for now) Im also excited to see what you'll watch next in the meantime!

DorkRunner

The Taisho Era Secret that is at the end of the final episode is my absolute favorite. Learning that Miss Kanroji was Rengoku's tsuguko was really precious to me, because I can absolutely see the both of them relating to each other and getting along super well, and it makes me all the more sad, too, that we never really got to see that relationship on screen. Plus, the final sendoff from Rengoku himself is just too perfect, like, "Hey, I might be physically gone, but I'm still right here with every one of you. Let's give it our all." It didn't come across as weird to me at all, partly because I am at least peripherally familiar with some of Japan's beliefs and ideas about the afterlife, and partly because we've seen deceased beloved family members protect and reach out to their loved ones from beyond the grave several times already in this series, such as Tanjiro's family repeatedly appearing to him and his sister in dreams and other visions. edit* One more thing. You read that the international release hasn't been announced yet. I don't want to get your hopes up, but sometimes the subs become available to watch with the Japanese release, I think. At the very least I know that with Your Name I ordered the movie from the Japanese Amazon website and the Japanese version had English subtitles as an option, so I definitely could see it being possible to watch the sub when the Japanese release happens. But maybe not, too. I couldn't find Infinity Castle on the Japanese Amazon, but I was able to find it on a different reputable import store, CDJapan. It's a bit pricey because it's an import, but in case you're interested I'll link it below. (CDJapan has regular editions available as well as the Limited) https://www.cdjapan.co.jp/feature/Demon-Slayer-Kimetsu-no-Yaiba-Movie-Infinity-Castle-Akaza-Returns-Bluray-DVD

I’m also a newer watcher and missed Infinity Castle. It released in theaters in 2025, it is a crime that it hasn’t been released digitally or even physically!

Josue

Such an epic finale. Really hoping they release the blu-ray sooner than later. I watched it in theaters but I need a rewatch. For your next anime, what type of show are you hoping for? What genre? May I offer my favorite, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I think you'd love it.

able16

How do you know that?

PaulieXP

You'll love the movie, but like the rest of us.. you'll probably hate having to wait for the sequels :)) Well, as for what series you can fill the void with, There's always FMA Brotherhood, Naruto, Bleach, Hellsing Ultimate, etc..

Brian Gavorski

You’re one of the few people that truly appreciates Demon slayer for what it truly is. Yes, the animation the fighting is 9000 out of 10. You actually take the time to see the story appreciate the characters and what they’ve gone through including the demons as well. Looking forward to your reaction infinity Castle, part one.

Hurrakan

I googled it. I mentioned it because his other kids are in the movie and it confused me, so I looked it up.

KamikazeCDN

I did feel like Muzan was looking awfully "hee hee" in this episode. I'm not sure why this anime didn't click with me when it first released and I tried watching it. I think maybe I was just going into one of my "not watching anime" stages of life but I'm glad I've given it another shot via your reactions. I won't pretend it's my absolute favourite but it's very good. It was also fun seeing you being able to handle some of the more gory moments as well as the goofy comedy elements as well. Gives some hope for future anime reactions being on the table for you. Some of my actual personal favourites are ones that aren't often suggested or reacted to. Tokyo Ghoul, Psycho-Pass, Parasyte: The Maxim, Cowboy Bebop, Death Parade. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners might be one of the few more modern and often recommended anime in my top list.

soulspawn

I watched the first three seasons and movies before rewatching them again with you, and even though this wasn't the intended order for season four, I think it was perfect! Thank you for sharing and OH MAN I'm so hyped for the movies AAAA!

Howie

I deleted my original post by accident😭 Just wanted to say I immediately fast forwarded to the finale to watch your reaction! Hashira ASSEMBLE! We all had to wait at least a year for the movie. Hopefully, you'll just need to wait a month or two for either the blu-ray or streaming!

M00n_chain

One of the best cliffhangers in modern shonen anime in recent years. The soundtrack in every aspect, the lighting, the animation, Ubuyashiki's speech, Muzan and the Pillars entering—everything was perfect from beginning to end. Thank you so much for your genuine reactions and the excitement you put into this... Infinity Castle Part 1 is closer than you think, and it will be worth the wait...🫡🧐 Moments for the history books of anime
