I went into this next episode expecting Tartar to confront Qifrey and demand answers about the mysterious bright light and his grandfather's sudden amnesia. But instead got one of the most wholesome episodes of the series so far.

Watching Tartar discover that he could preform magic despite his silversight was so inspirational! I think what made it hit harder was remembering his feelings towards being a witch apprentice from last week. He carries so much doubt and fear about himself. He already accepted the limits everyone else placed on him, so seeing that spark of hope slowly glow into excitement felt incredibly rewarding! His joy was so pure. It reminded me of Coco's first excitement discovering that she can be a witch apprentice. I love how compassionate Witch Hat Atelier is. So many stories would have turned this into a dramatic confrontation. But instead the series chose kindness and drifted into a beautiful side story about hope. It focused on encouragement, possibility, and what it means to believe in yourself when you've spent your whole life listening to the voices telling you its impossible. By the end, I wasn't even worried about Qifrey answering Tartar anymore. Seeing him realize that his future might be so much bigger than he ever imagined was everything. It reminded me what magic is really for. Underneath all the mystery and darkness, this is a story about people helping each other find hope and joy ✨Thank you for your support on Patreon!Relax and enjoy 🍿🌿SYNC ALONG LINK: https://youtu.be/hm-y2Pg6u_sI watched this on Crunchyroll in original Japanese with subtitles

If you need a new recommendation, I know how much you enjoy animes based off of magic like Frieren. You should try to watch. Wisteria wand and sword.

Cerulean Spectre

magnificent reaction and after this would love to see you react to welcome to demon school iruma-kun please and loving your reactions keep it up

You have to pass the first test to become a witch apprentice so Tartah is probably not an apprentice at this point. They deemed him not worthy of training due to his condition.

This episode made me tear up all 3 times I watched it this week. They showed Tartah's hat on the floor several times, but the way the moonlight began to illuminate the hat as he worked on "his" spell was fantastic visual storytelling. Something Easthies the Knight Moralis guy mentioned about forbidden magic was that witches who use it often tattoo casting seals on themselves. Your discussion of the "embodiment of forbidden magic" made me think of that line. One of Qifrey's comments to Coco in a past episode was about how witch society is very intolerant of exceptions. I think the fact that Tartah was written off as not having any potential as a witch without even giving him a chance to try speaks to that. 😔 That applies to Agott too, though to a lesser extent.

I suspect that one brimmed hat witch has symbols of invisibility tattooed on their body. That would be an embodiment of forbidden magic.

I haven’t watched any of Kali’s anime videos or really any anime except for the Animatrix. . Where’s the best place to start?

It really depends on what type of mood you're looking for, but as someone who never watched anime before, my first series was watching Kali's Frieren reactions, and I absolutely loved it. It's calm, thoughtful, and meaningful. If you're looking for faster paced action with a lot of emotional moments, go with her Demon Slayer reactions. And Spy x Family is really good light hearted fun

I know that voice actor from anywhere. Dude usually plays creepy crazy af people so I wouldn't be surprised if this dude was any different.

Thanks, I will check them out!

Did x men days of future past drop? This is the only thing I've seen all week. Jw if I got downgraded to a different tier or something

kaliwali

It finally dropped! I was on vacation and it got pushed 😅

Ooo good point about the casting seals on themselves! That's most definitely what's going on with the invisible Brimmed Hat. And very true about Tartah. Clearly he was written off a long time ago, so once that happens it's probably very difficult to be seen as anything more. Which definitely applies to Agott for sure! Ty for sharing these!

kaliwali

Yesss! True! I forgot all about that somehow and went straight to... "grim reaper?" LOL

Killua X

No worries. Thanks. Hope the vacay was great

Tartan’s hat sequence is so impactful too when you think about moonlight often being described as silverlight. The silvery light of the moon. His world of magic was being illuminated by the light that makes him different. Poetry.
