My favorite commercial is the bud light swear jar: office decides to get a case of bud light with the swear jar money so everyone starts swearing way more.

Joshua Levine

Hearing Mickey swear in fright is hilarious...

QOTD 1: prob the Tootsie roll pop "how many licks" commercial... Even tho it's from the 70s, it for easily all the way thru the 90s. QOTD 2: no, I'm an exvangelical. Like coming out of a DIFFERENT cult!

Hey Ted, what do you think about the new game Unicorn Overlord? It looks kind of like Ogre Battle. QOTD 1: The Big Short commercial on reddit with the fake Elon Musk, Yi Long Ma.

Colby Mazur

I am not old enough for this commercial but I really like the Volkswagon "da da da" commercial

Also pretty big fan of the "scoop there it is" geico commercial

ryan scott mccormick

I remember an Irish spring commercial that was like, “ poor Sean, his normal soap is leaving his skin toight and droawn”. I’ve never read ‘Dianetics’ but ‘Battlefield Earth’ is another book that I’ve not read… 🤓

TyroWordsmith

The commercial for Nickelodeon Magazine always grabbed my attention as a kid. Also, not a Scientologist. No excuse.

Every Canadian should be putting down: North American House Hippo CLASSIC commercial

To me the discussion of AI seems like a repeat of something that's already happened many times before. Of course if AI advances in a truly transformative way it could be even more revolutionary, but you've also seen the near death of practical effects in movies in forth of CGI, some movies have gone from film to digital, animation moving from hand drawn cells to computer animated frames, technology changes and twists the scenery of art all the time, even just looking at the tiny sphere that is films/shows. "AI" feels more drastic as a change, probably, since for ex. hand drawn cell versus drawing on a computer tablet, they're different skills but still related, there's still someone pouring the inside of their head onto a material form, with AI, I have no idea how that'll work. Will that "someone" be whoever is in charge of directing the AI to produce whatever it is they're looking for? AI is WAY too green still to even fathom what that process could look like. Making a movie? even a short film? Unless you want actual slop, the amount of iteration and the specificity of whatever you are prompting to generate would definitely require SOME level of expertise. Personally I couldn't care less about generating images or videos to "satisfy my fanfictions", I'm mostly interested on the barriers it opens up for creativity. I'm a programmer, I love making games in my free time (though I seldom finish any) but I don't usually really have money to hire an artist to draw 5 thousand dollars worth of sprites, portraits, and backgrounds just so I can fulfill my creative desire to develop the game that's on my head. With AI generation, I can physically test a Way better example of what I had in my mind, and then if I like it and the opportunity comes, actually hire an artist on something I'm truly confident on. Wall of text. Oops. Sorry if nobody cares lol.

I played music for a large chunk of my life. I still write all the time. I've noticed that with the younger people I work with their attitude is that I wasted my time. I don't believe they understand, and it's not their fault, that kind of drive to be creative maybe because they are growing up in a world where you don't need to be self sufficient in a way we used to. And that's true for people my age as well. Like, I don't need to hunt for my food so I never learned how. If someone doesn't learn how to be creative will they know how? When art becomes automated in a way, and kids don't really have a need to create it on their own, then these old, let's call them platforms(our hands)..... I don't know exactly where I'm going. But, this platorm is just going to become more and more specialized and all we can do is pass the knowledge on. WTF am I even talking about..ugh I need to sleep.
