Fascinating that Alex and Brett think that Bobby being gay is such a pivot, when many readers (mostly queer, but not always!) have read Bobby as queer for years. It’s something planted and suggested by some writers for a long time. (Emma taking over his body in the ‘90s and intimating it, for example.) Not to say this was anyone is “wrong”, but it is certainly indicative of the diversity of perspectives on comics and, well, everything.

Interesting... I never read marvel growing up, and can't remember any characters being openly gay back in the 80s and 90s from the few DC books I read. I'm glad to see more representation nowadays!!! ❤️

Yeah, DC had Extraño in Millennium (a couple years before Northstar comes out) who is a bit of a caricature and is relegated to an AIDS storyline, but he’s had some cool appearances in the newer stuff. Coagula is a trans member of Doom Patrol written by the late, great Rachel Pollack. John Constantine is written as queer pretty early. Plus some other folks. But it takes a long time for out queer characters to thrive after the Comics Code and lingering homophobic attitudes in editorial offices.

So yea before I was in a wheelchair, I also was hit on quite a bit by homosexual men. Even a few time in front of my now wife. We would go out to eat, and I'd get hit on by the waiter and she would be ignored. Not at the same place even. This was when we were in college. Then a rumor happened here in town that me and a friend and mine were in a secret gay relationship just because we took turns buying each other lunch on our breaks. Funny thing is, it wasn't just dumb straight rednecks that thought this. It was a lot of people in the community. I was already doing an apprenticeship for youth ministry and I had people ask me about it while I was doing a community outreach/food pantry type thing. My wife went to college an hour and a half away. So essentially I got approached by a lot of people thinking I was in secret gay relationships. Some didn't even think she existed lol. Then when I would visit her I would get hit on by men. After we were married a friend of ours got a divorce and it made him super depressed. He was in the military and had some psychological issues so a lot of times I had to be with him to make sure he didn't do anything like hurt himself. He was disabled as well, I was not in a wheelchair yet thus I could drive. This was after my brain surgery where I was symptom free for like a year. I would have to drive him to and from the VA and stuff like that when he wasn't able due to a physical reason or psychological reason. My wife worked during the day and me and my marine buddy would take my oldest who is now 15 with us all day long to different crap because I was a stay at home dad. There were many times where people thought him and I were a couple with our adopted daughter. It was pretty fun. Then when we would say no one of us or both of us would get hit on by the same sex. So yes Ted I can relate to you saying that homosexual men tend to hit on you. It didn't quit for me till after I got into a wheelchair. So maybe you just need to get all crippled up like me :). lol

I think the best part of doing an unusual or quirky build in a game is when you get to the point where you can reliably take out enemies, you get a lot of that with the Hades franchise as you get a boon that suddenly turns a struggling run into a contender.

Also, because I'm generally so forward and have no fliter/barrier of entry for talking about anything about myself to people I just met (Autism has its downsides), I tend to get hit on by Ghanian, Ivory Coastian, and Nigerian women (there are a lot of immigrants from around the world where I'm from).
