QotD: Umm.... I'm a little embarrassed to say.... My booty hole...

Ox

This is how I know the beard bros are my people, like three months ago I went on the exact same YouTube rabbithole search for Powerhouse and other looney tunes sound effects that are hard to describe in words.

Going from "Sugar Situations" and sex workers to old timey factory music is SUCH a hard pivot! 😂

I think the other song Alex brought up is the end of Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King". I don't know though, I might be wrong.

I’ve got a CD of Raymond Scott’s music called “Reckless Nights and Turkish Twilights” check it out! I think it’s kind of a greatest hits situation. I got it from the free area of the animation studio I worked at. It’s all very cartoon music, it’s great!

I think a sugar daddy isn't necessarily someone who pays you to be sexual with them, I think the point is more hinging on where the attraction is. If you're attracted to a person and in a relationship, that could be your boyfriend, but if you're only attracted to the lifestyle they enable then it's a sugar daddy. I think it's less about the specific things being bought or not and more about what the relationship is hinging on.

Ryan Bettner

Alex is 100% right about the sugar daddy thing. Also, a prostitute is working a job. A SUGAR DADDY TM fully supports the sugar baby financially and they don't have their own income usually. Prostitution is a job.

John Slop

You're right! Just listened to it myself.

For me the best Charles Grodin is Clifford. One of the best black comedy films ever.

Butts and bellys

Yo that song is the same song your thinking of you just didn't listen to the whole thing

Joshua Levine

QotD: Lean Cuisine Thai Noodles with Chicken... That sauce was life for a few years there. I really wish they'd bring it back.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jastEtNhGk Powerhouse - Raymond Scott Quintette. The song changes completely at 1:10 but does appear to be the earliest instance ive seen of that song that we all know but had no idea where the hell it came from until now.

Sureman

Also, A portion of the rock group Rush's instrumental song "La Villa Strangiato" completely rips off that main bit of Powerhouse.

Max Streuber

I only know the name of the Powerhouse song because I looked it up a long time ago and it stuck with me because that doesn't fit it at all.

New brett quote dropped "Daddy doesn't get touchies till I get my TV"

I mean those old cartoons were called Loony Tunes and Merry Melodies for a reason. Before they began using consistent characters they were created as basically music videos for songs in the Warner Bros. library.

“Confidence is seeing yourself as a flawed human being, and still holding yourself in high regard.” — Terrance Real.

Odin's Raven

Sounds like they are talking about the beginning of Honey I Shrunk the Kids.
