I’m like Ted on the whole Santa thing, my parents went through really elaborate schemes to get me to believe Santa was real my whole childhood. “If you don’t believe you don’t receive!” Like, when I told them someone in school told me he was fake they got someone I never met before to dress like Santa and eat the cookies and unload presents under the tree in the middle of the night after my dad woke me up with jingle bells out of my window and stomping on the roof above my bedroom. I believed well into middle school and even got made fun of for it. But I love that I believed in magic and wonder that long.

Minnesotan here to defend Ted. We would call an assistant teacher a "Para" (they're usually there help kids with special needs)

That was interesting to learn. In a few schools I've worked in another country, what would be 1st grade got 2 class teachers and sometimes the 6th grade did, but there was still a teacher for those that had a specialized plan at a higher tier, of roughly 3 tiers.
