We have been getting a lot of positive comments for these little blue cat charms we brought to recent markets, so we wanted to share them as a bonus drop for our Patreon members.

This charm is designed as a flat multicolour keychain, but it also works great as:

Earrings

A zipper pull tag

A backpack or convention bag charm

At full size the model is about 32.6 mm x 40 mm and 2.56 mm thick, so it is a nice chunky charm without being too heavy.

What is included

You receive:

The Derpy Cat Charm model

The project setup and swap schedule we use for our own prints

You are welcome to scale it up or down for different uses. Just keep the Z height at 2.56 mm so the colour mapping stays correct. For a smaller scale we recommend using a 0.2 mm nozzle so you do not lose detail in the model.

Printing notes

Base profile

First layer height: 0.16 mm

Remaining layers: 0.08 mm

Infill: 100 percent for solid colour transitions

Max thickness: 2.56 mm

Turn off any features that change layer thickness automatically, such as adaptive layer height or ironing, since these can shift the layer count and throw off the swap schedule.

Filament colours

The project uses 6 colours (Bambu Labs PLA):

Black

Blue

Cyan

White

Magenta

Yellow

You can match our colours or substitute close equivalents from your own filament drawer.

How to print: AMS or pause swap

You can run this model either on a multi material system or a single material printer.

Option 1: AMS or MMU

Load up to 4 colours into the AMS.

Use the provided swap schedule to assign colours to specific layer ranges in Bambu Studio or your preferred slicer.

Because this project uses 6 colours, you can still print it on a 4-slot AMS by inserting one planned pause during the print, swapping two of the loaded filaments that have already been printed for the remaining two colours, and resuming. The rest of the swaps will be handled automatically by the AMS.

Option 2: Single extruder with pause swaps

Slice with the HueForge layer settings above.

In Preview, add pauses at the swap layers listed in the "derpy_charm_describe.txt" file.

When the printer pauses, change filament, purge until the new colour is clean, then resume.

Either method will give you the same layered artwork effect on the finished charm.

Tier access and usage

Drake tier: Receives the Derpy Cat Familiar charm for personal use as a bonus drop this month.

Ancient Dragon tier: Receives the same files plus the right to sell physical prints under the usual merchant license terms.

STL file resale or sharing is not permitted. Credit to Curations By Kira is appreciated when you share photos of your prints.

Thank you again for all of your support. The next February drop will be coming shortly this week!

Andy McDonald

Hi. At the Markets here in the UK we are prevented from selling items that are copyright. Do you have the permission to use the image from K-pop deamon hunters? and the permission to resell it to us as Patreon Members? Thanks in advance

Curations By Kira

Hi Andy, we don't really have much regulation on fan art at markets/conventions out here so has never been an issue! It is unlicensed though as this is just a model we created for our own purposes originally :)

Knots & Geeks

At what layer will I need to pause and wha color can I swap

Curations By Kira

There is a "describe.txt" file in the google drive that lays out all of the filament swap times as well as which colours are recommended
