Am I the only one who thinks he shouldn't have sex with Clara? It seems he's deeply emotionally invested in this, and she is not. Jacob's not her boyfriend, Geoff is, and I think that's going to cause jealousy and feelings of being used on Jacob's side of things if they do have sex, since he might fall in love with her.

Right now, he's not even thinking about having sex with her. There's a few things going on here. First, we've been given the impression that he's not really good with women and that he gets teased about it a lot (remember how he assumed Clara was going to go have a good laugh with the others about catching him watching porn?) So, he's telling himself that she didn't care, that she was just pitying him. That's him trying to pre-emptively get his guard up for when (he thinks) she tells him that, like he was imagining earlier. Also, he's convinced Geoff is going to be furious with him and wondering how mad he's going to be. Maybe mad enough even to throw him out on the street? I don't think either of those things are true, but that's where Jacob's head is at right now. He's trying to brace himself for the next time he encounters one or both of them after Clara tells Geoff what happened.

I disagree with saying he's not thinking about having sex with her. He's simultaneously thinking of fucking her (check 2 pages ago) and also feeling shame for engaging with and wanting his brother's girlfriend. It's visually shown in the comic. Yes, he wants to have sex with her. You're right, he's freaked out because of the shame he feels. But my point isn't that he's not bracing himself, it's that he's felt special doing that with her, and as you pointed out, he doesn't get female attention a lot. Some specific moments lead me to believe that he's crushing on her hard. He is struggling with the urge to be with her vs. knowing she's not his girlfriend and worrying there's no emotional connection. Such moments are: -Him thinking back on their encounter with a pink air of emotion (hence blushing etc) -Him imagining fucking her with her cumming a lot, he's imagining satisfying her and once again the pink air is around her, there are hearts in her eyes as if she is in love with him. -Overhearing Clara and Geoff fucking and realizing that she's having sex with geoff and not him making him awkwardly scoot away -Imagining her saying that they can't have sex, but it's okay because "it wasn't that special right?" (his fear is she doesn't think he's special even though he feels she is) - His brother getting angry that he would want to have sex with his girlfriend, though not fully apperant, I personally interpret it as "Geoff showing that Clara is his, not Jacob's" competition for the girl type thing. I think if Jacob has sex with Clara it will be an emotional disaster for him, Clara, and Geoff. His fantasies and emotions are NOT lining up with reality.

My issue is more with people calling Clara a slut or whore and acting like she'll just spread her legs for anyone with a dick. We've already seen her shut down the cat guy in this comic and Geoff himself said she makes up her mind pretty quick about if she will or won't have sex with a guy.
