LOVE the multi color option! Still need to get to try some painting on a model😂

SEREV3d

Now we are trying to limit the multicolor versions to 4 colors, so like this anyone who has a simple bambu AMS, they won't have headaches of how to achieve all the colors, if it was made with 6-8 etc. Because honestly, we definitely could paint a 12 color masterpiece with all the shades and everything, but it would take sooo much time and effort, and I think no one would ever print it, also because the printing time multiplies a lot based on the amount of color changes :D

Gabriel Soriano

I felt lucky with the squirtle😂 I thought it HAD to be 5 color but I separated the head and body to still wake it work with my A1 ams

SEREV3d

Haha yes, from now on most designs will mainly be 4 colors. OR if we make a 5-6 color design, then we will try to put out a simplified 4 color version as well, I'm pretty sure you and some others will find that helpful!

TrapJaw Dad

I’m going to name this one Blaze. That’s the name of the UAB college mascot near my hometown. Blaze is also Dragon (hint, hint)

SEREV3d

It's s quite fitting name!

Great model! I would love to be able to print these at 58 %. (I know it says 69-75%) 58% would allow 6mm glass eyes and print under an hour on a Bambu. They look great except the connectors (particularly the tail) doesn't always print fully and comes apart when removing from the build plate. Could the connecting pieces be made more sturdy?

SEREV3d

Hi, thanks Jay!:) Yes, the 58% might be a bit too small scaling for the current design, since originally we designed it to fit 12mm eyes with a 100% scale, and tested it with down to 69% scale to fit 8mm eyes or rhinestones, with those sizes it prints pretty easily:) Have you tried to print it with adding an extra wall, or lowering the layer height? With smaller articulated prints that can really help to keep the connections between the parts, we've seen people printing really tiny articulated models before, of course the smaller they are the more fragile, but they were still holding on pretty well:) Also, we will try to find a good balance to design the connectors slightly thicker, but also not too thick, otherwise the connections might get fused together at printing...and people end up with a non-moving frozen little dragon:) Currently, if you scale this dragon down to 58%, at the tail, there's only 1mm distance between the two connectors, that's why it's a bit tricky because if we make it even thicker, the distance will be so small, that the filament could make the two parts stick together...

Jay Pierstorff

Thanks, I will give your suggestions a try. Otherwise, I will just have to print it bigger. Love the designs, and looking forward to the next two versions! I really like the ability to install glass/rhinestone eyes! :)

SEREV3d

Thank you, and we will keep your advice noted, we will try to make our future articulated designs in a way that they might be able to scale down even smaller, but also to keep a good balance with the quality and looks of the design too. Because we don't want to fall into the mistake of what some other creators do...that in the end yes, it's a very easy to "print in place" product, but it usually looks like the exact same blob and shape being sold to people over and over again. We try to make every design unique looking, and also functional!:) And i think the more time goes forward, we will perfect and polish our designing skills even further. We are also thinking to integrate this glass/rhinestone ideas with our cat designs in the future too! They would look really adorable with shiny beautiful eyes:)

I'm having a really hard time printing this, it just stops printing at layer 35 everytime, I've tried it on 3 different machines (all Bambu) any ideas what's going on?

SEREV3d

Oh wow, that sounds really strange, especially if your machines all stop printing at the exact same layer, I've never encountered something like this before...Also I know about at least 20 members who have printed the Fire Elemental dragon in the past month, they have sent us a bunch of pictures too, no one has mentioned a similar issue before. I'm thinking what could be the issue...are you using the same exact SD card, or are you sending the same project file to your machines? Are you importing the stl, or using the 3mf file provided?

Minty Interiors

I downloaded this dragon from the welcome pack and it doesn't have the multicolor option. The only colored option is all red.

SEREV3d

Hi! Did you check the folder named "Craft Eye Versions"? There should be a 12mm and a 6mm craft eye version with Multicolor included. (like on the screenshot image) Back last year in October when we made this dragon, we only included the multicolor version with craft eyes, because that was the most requested! :) Since then with the newer dragons we actually provide even more versions, with full eyes, and different sizes etc. If we'll have time in the near future, maybe I'll go back and paint a full eye version as well, not just the craft eye ones.
