I love the eggs, thank you! Is anyone else having issues with the fire egg fitting together? Mine seems a bit too snug and I have broken off a few of the flame scales on the sides when trying to separate them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

SEREV3d

Hi, thanks for the feedback! Which one did you try to print, the small or the big sized one? Also, did you use regular, matte or silk pla?(these info will help us to determine some of the issues) Usually silk tends to slightly "morph" and warp a bit more than regular pla. We try to make the eggs to not be too loose or too tight at designing, so they would fit together perfectly, but sometimes even a fraction of a mm can change a lot in the outcome! Also, you can always drop us a quick e-mail ( contactserev3d@gmail.com ) and attach some pictures/video to show which parts do you mean exactly, so we can see if it's as tight on our prints too (or if anyone else mentions an issue if the same thing occurs) We'll look into it, and let you know if we make an updated version of it in the upcoming 1-2 days, to give it more of a "wiggle room" so it will fit easily:)

I did the small and scaled them down to 72% to fit the 69% scaled down dragons. I had three different PLA Silk Filaments (a GOTO guard Red/Gold - for the fire egg had the tightest tolerance, a Amolen Azure Blue filament for the Ice egg that turned out okay, and a OVV3D Purple/Green that gives me zero issue on multiple egg prints. I also had an issue with Cura on the fire egg closing off the top of the bottom half, but it printed fine in Orca slicer. All in all amazing eggs, and happy to have them. Glad to know its just a silk PLA thing. Nothing a little sanding wont fix before I give them to my daughters in a few days.

Fire egg doesn't fit together in silk but works on regular pla on the large egg

SEREV3d

Hi, you can try to do some test temp towers to see what is the most suitable temperature and/or printing speed for your silk pla. Silk is a bit more sensitive when it comes to printing it, and it even depends on certain brands, some prints well on slightly higher or lower temperatures! You can try to do a little sanding on some of the contact parts of your already printed egg, to make them fit. Also, maybe you can ask some of the other members who printed the fire egg with silk PLA ( I saw a few of them ), to see which brand and which settings they used too!:)

Bethmumma1965

It broke when I tried to put the top on.
