Yay!!! Buttons will be so happy to have a friend his age!!! 😃

TrapJaw Dad

Did you use a mesh pattern to paint the legs or did you do every one.

Is there a tutorial on how to apply the eyes?

SEREV3d

If you use a little drop of superglue ( gorilla glue is a pretty good one) on the eyesocket of the dragon, then you should just place the eyes with the correct size in the socket (depending on if you print the 12mm or the 8mm craft eye version), keep it pressed for a few more seconds and as soon as the glue dries, it should hold well afterwards:) We'll start creating and putting out a few useful tutorials soon, about a bunch of different printing-painting and other techniques!:)

I just had a late night epiphany. As I’m sure you remember, Buttons is a big as a real life cat. I’m thinking about doing this for all of them. Santa hasn’t told me exactly when I’m getting the Kobra 3 Max Combo, but I know it won’t be anytime soon. 😉 (Side note - I learned yesterday that there’s a Klipper format releasing soon that will allow the ACE to run on older Anycubic versions like the Kobra Plus & Max) In the meantime, Is there any chance - when you a free moment - that you can separate the tail from the body so I can go 200%, 250% or even 300%, rotate the first link 90° so I can add a pause to put a D-Ring or 2 in there to connect to the body? I guess this raises the question how am I going to connect the D-Rings. I need to sleep on it. Hopefully this makes sense. Maybe I’m the only one who wants to make it 200-300%. I think it would be fun to have cat size dragons. If I am the only one, I can just do it on Blender, no worries. Ok, I’m tired and heading to bed soon.

SEREV3d

I would be curious to see a 200-300% version! So basically you would like to have a version where the tail is removed and separated from the body of the dragon, so it could fit on your print bed if you upscale the dragon? The separation would be an easy thing, it's what you mentioned as well, to attach them afterwards back together would take a little bit of planning. I think...if maybe the body and the stem of the tail would be made to have different connectors (not the classic chain connection), but maybe a snap-joint added, then after when you are done with the whole print you could snap the tail back on the body!:) I'll see if in this upcoming week I'll have time to make a different joint for the dragon and see if it would work. But yes, a huge real cat-size teen dragon would look awesome! Let's try to make it happen:)

TrapJaw Dad

Correct. Something about the size of a full grown cat. My Purple Buttons was a last minute idea I got like 2 days before Halloween. I shortened the tail on Blender. I think he is easily over 400 mm from nose to tail. I printed him diagonally on my Kobra 2 Max. I’ll measure once I get home.

I am fairly new to this subscription. But I was wondering why I do not get emails like my other subs?
