Hello! I see that you're a bit confused with the rachas and units. So when they say units, it's basically the rap or vocal line, so the rap line is the 4 members that 80% of the time rap and vocal line is the 4 members that 80% of the time sing. Vocal line is bang Chan, lee know, Seungmin and I.N. Rap line is Han, Changbin, Felix, and Hyunjin. Also if you really want to get into some of the songs Hyunjin made, then Cover me, and DLMLU are both great songs. The others are solo/racha/duo songs.

Also yes LiSA is the Japanese artist... Not Lisa from Blackpink :)

From the intro I think another thing that is confusing for new people is that some of the members have stage names and some fans will interchangeably use their non-stage names when talking about them: Lee Know is Minho Han is Jisung I.N. is Jeongin Bang Chan is Chris And then while the "rachas" are typically specific groups, a "unit" can just be any group that does something together. So when they said "a vocal unit song" they just meant the song was vocals-focused and those 4 members were involved.

First I'll drop my suggestions for the "YouTube focused" reactions. As a big nerd I watch a lot of YouTube reactions 😂 And these are ones I think would grab some people: Escape seems to be a very popular reaction because it's so emotional and cinematic (with some... romantic elements? Not to spoil too much). People like to see reactions to it for those reasons. A selfish entry, it was my top-listened song on YouTube music recap 😂 S Class and LALALALA are both very popular reactions as well that I think would be good for YouTube and include the whole group. People like them partly because the videos go SO HARD. They really went big on the special effects / practical effects and I think people like to see reactions to that. It feels even more impressive when you realize that in these videos they use very few digital/CG effects, almost all of it is practical. Real fire, real fireworks, drone cameras for some crazy aerial shots. Another duo song, Truman with Felix and Han, seems to be a fan favorite. Felix and Han both really shine in that one and the video is interesting and weird, there is a lot of symbolism you can try to interpret. Megaverse is a good one that is very rap heavy and it's very meme-able because of the lyrics (another selfish entry, this is one of my favorites). Another video with extremely cool special effects / filming techniques, though a lot more subtle than S Class. And there's an actor from Squid Game playing the security guard 😂

Another big comment for a big reaction but I think I kept it more reasonable this time: Hyunjin is a known sweaty boy: he's usually drenched in sweat within minutes of a performance. It's a running joke the sweat flying off his hair is like glitter. The visuals they bring out for the concert graphics are always fantastic. They were really crazy in the dominATE:celebrATE - complete with moving stage parts, pyrotechnics, a drone show. The stage itself was even shaped like the "ATE" logo, a mouth with teeth. It was SO funny to hear you say their music is edgy, hard hype songs, knowing that we were going into Lonely St next. The members really like this song because of the crowd participation which unfortunately is hard to hear on the video but it sounds like they got a good crowd sing along going. Sometimes they angle the camera towards the crowd and the sheer number of people gives me like a vertigo feeling. I couldn't imagine it. You're right about which LiSA it is, the JPOP anime queen. And though she doesn't come out for these performances, in later performances (and in the Killing Voice) Han does her part and absolutely kills it. In this one they just let the backing track take over. Aaaaa Charmer. A fan favorite for obvious reasons. I'm actually surprised Bang Chan kept his shirt on for this one he's the one who usually teases the crowd. Answer to your dancing Q: I've been meaning to learn the Do It choreography because it looks so fun and easy enough, but I'm really not a dancer and haven't made the time for it. 😂 AAAAAH I forgot how much they jazzed up Backdoor with the live instruments, it hits so hard. To answer your other Q: I think I would pick Hyunjin to body-snatch, he always looks like he's having so much fun. Or Maybe Han, he's a natural performer. I suspect Seungmin feels the same way as you about the live vocals - he is almost always harmonizing with his own backing track or going off into a crazy flourish when singing live, I think to make it easier to hear the live vocals. I loved this, thank you Tim. I'm glad you like it. I don't remember the end of this concert off the top of my head but I think you'll see their encores are typically very much focused on fan interaction. When they're doing a solo concert this is when they run around, interact with people, throw merch, take selfies, etc. It becomes a party!

You want to see silly and playful? How tempted are you to watch SKZ Code, their variety show? There are at least a few of us that could recommend some good ones. They're usually about 20-30 minutes long but they are entirely in Korean with subtitles so it helps to be a quick reader.

Kagari

Loved this ❤️ About the harmonies, I get it, they sometimes do some of them live and i guess that it's probably difficult with all the dancing but besides that, doing all the original ones live would be impossible bc some of them would need clones lmao, they sometimes harmonize with themselves and Chan probably would need like 5 copies of himself because he does a lot of the harmonies, It's so fun to watch the studio recordings behinds and see all he does on the background!! (if you end up reacting to Christmas Love, i would really recomend you to watch the studio recording behind, it's super cool because the song has a lot of harmonies and singing together https://youtu.be/HVPByeNqxx8?si=vea8h-OQyoCcgY5-) About the solos, non of them has debuted as soloist but all of them have solo songs, theres 2 studio albums with solos of everyone (SKZ-REPLAY and HOP) and they also release solos and units songs exclusively on youtube at random times as SKZ Records which is like their passion proyect with songs they make for themselves, without thinking about an album or anything specifically. To bring more people I would actually recomend you to react to the solos from HOP (you've only watched Railway from Chan on patreon i think), they all have videos and STAYs really loves them, besides you also get to know them individually. Depending of how much time you have, maybe some on youtube and some on patreon or all on ytb and you do the concert performances or live solo switches (they switched songs beetween members for a concert/fanmeeting) on patreon because people always ask for them on the solos reactions so that would probably lure them in lol.

Cover Me is so good 😭

Yes, Hyunjin always sweats buckets lol. It’s funny because sometimes the other members offers him extra water or pours some over him. Don’t worry too much about the live singing! If I remember correctly it will be heard better after the next break - Stray Kids places great value in us being able to hear them so they sort it out.

Libby

First of all absolutly loved this🫶🏻 You will probably like to hear that they most of them still work with vocal coaches😆 I would say Straykids is pretty fair when it comes to line distributions and giving each member a moment. There are definatly Kpop groups where that is far bigger of a conversation. I think it might help them that they are self produced, since its usually 3Racha assinging parts its probably pretty easy for the members to just say it when they are unhappy. But they also dont make it a secret that they have had their arguments and such, especially when they where all still living together (they now live in pairs of two instead of all 8 together). As others said they had their little solo side projects here and there but they are also very vocal about Straykids beeing their absolut focus and priority. When you watch their content its very obvious how much they care for each other and the group so I think that has a lot to do with why non of them have really considered doing a bigger solo thing before🤷🏻‍♀️

Libby

Oh also btw this is the live stream hulu did of lollapalooza so that you know what your listening to on a technical side😂

Libby

I think as far as YT recs go their big ones are allways a good choice so you could for example do Thunderous on YT and then the KBS live (little like First Take) on Patreon. But I also agree with doing solo or duo songs🤷🏻‍♀️ Its Straykids so there is no bad choice here😂😂

Binnie

Its so much fun doing this concert with you!! I love Skzs playfull side aswell they are constantly interacting with each other and the crowd. Its fun that they included My pace into this setlist bc its one of their very early Songs, to give you a bit of a perspective Han was 17 when they wrote it😆

Binnie

As far as Recs go I would like to mention Bleep again bc I think its a Song that you would have a lot of fun with

Binnie

And Felix is Yongbok 😆

Binnie

Also just want to say if you ever get the chance to go to a Skz concert I would 100% recommand it!! Not just for the group and the fire Show they put on but also bc Stays are a incredibly lovely community. When I was at the concert we had to wait outside for a while and it was pretty hot and everybody was looking out for each other: sharing water, giving shadow spots to people struggling and so on. Some people even made little gifts to hand out and during the show we where really all dancing and screaming together just having a good time. it felt like meeting up with a whole Stadion full of friends. This community feeling was also one of the reasons why it was one of the best nights of my live😊🥰

Savallion

Oh wait on rewatch I DO hear Han doing LiSA's part in this as well. They just don't put him on screen so I wasn't hearing it. Anyone else hear mostly with their eyes? 😂

Danielle Kroll

Off-topic to Stray Kids, but you mentioned you like using live-looping in your music. Did you get to go see Mexodus? It was off-broadway last fall at the Minetta Lane, but it was a 2-hander musical that was done entirely through live-looping. It was so cool!

Resistance_Is_Futile

Your little bread crumbs from YT are working.. I followed it over to your little community to see what else you got. I saw the live stream of this concert in YR2024 and it was so good even with some of the glitchy glitches that happen due to tech issues. Their stage band has been with them for the majority of their world wide performances, esp. the ones captured on the behind the scene [bts] for these. You can watch the preparation for these concerts with the band members in some of the ‘SKZ Talker Go’ shows on their YT channel.. They also show a lot of their recording producing work on the album name Intro MVs. BTS also for dance practices, I love watching those. Chan [leader] is extremely hands on and remembers details and follows through on them. He makes the final decision including beat/music arrangement, lyric distribution, choreography, he {& others] can/will change-up live performances on the fly, but he is always aware of how his members feel about the songs they create. With SKZ, it's not about "equal distribution" but, you can say, "whose voice" they think suits which lines most. He is always trying to make them shine even though it causes some people to think he doesn't do much.. he does everything [& yes he is my ult. bias]. There is a reason why they call him Genius Bang.. okay.. Rant over..

Franzi

about the backtrack overshadowing them... You're absolutely right and it's a thing Stays often complain about as well esp since they're in livestream often even heavier so if you find fancams from the same event its way easier to hear them. That's also one of the reason why lots of us fans search specifically for vids by other fans. Just have to endure the crowd singing along lol.Which sadly also is often muted in livestreams . I don't know how exactly it works but it's very obvious if you compare fanmade videos to the livestreams or sometimes even during them bec they unmute the fans shortly in between!

Franzi

about your question for the line distribution. As far as I know they do it themselves 3Racha even mentioned writing certain parts with a member in mind. But it does happen that fans complain...one recent example is bangchan where a lot of people felt he has gotten less and less lines even tho he never had that many since -like we say- he leaves space for his members to shine. I believe he also spoke out about this mentionig how it's not that important and fans overreact a little sometimes lol. So ofc we don't know 100% if they're always happy with it butit does look like it!

Libby

I think I would go for Hyunjin simply bc he said this was one of the best days of his life 😆

Maaike B

Great video, thanks! When will part 3 be available to watch?

Sharon

Another amazing one! I might have to go back and watch some of it again since I was watching while helping my high schooler with some English homework AND playing through a dungeon in FFXIV at the same time. I might have been a little distracted lol. Your little KPOP hearts at the end were adorable though! XD

tintin mauri

The band toured with them the entire Dominate Tour. Bangchan liked them so much that he had to add them to the tour.

gma*bev

Actually...that's one of the things that confused me most when I was learning about them. I'd think I'd finally get them all straight, and then someone would mention Jisung, and I'd think, "Who the heck is that?" And then someone would refer to one of them by their SKZOO names, like Jiniret or Dwaekki...and then there's the nicknames like "Baby Bread" or "Minnie". Took a long time and a lot of deep diving to finally sort through all the names...lol.

Savallion

This is why I think Tim should just binge watch all of SKZ Code, so he knows all the nicknames ;) there's only like 80 right?
