Long run times can feel long if the pacing isn't done right. The time paradox being a loop and surviving the singularity are hard to get my brain around, but the message was quite beautiful.

Yeah the more I think about certain parts of the movie the more my brain hurts 😂

Theoretical Physicist Kip Thorne was the science consultant for this film. He also wrote a tie-in book titled 'The Science of Interstellar'. It's a good book that explains the scientific concepts behind the film's cosmological ideas. This is a really good movie. I'm looking forward to watching this with you. I'm also looking forward to other films you'll be watching soon.

@1:10:22 I remember reading something very interesting about this water planet. That ticking noise that you hear in the backround...each tick is supposed to represent one day on earth (or was it one week?), so you can literally hear how fast time is passing by on earth. Very cool idea imo. The music in this film is sooo good. I remember hearing that Hans Zimmer composed the music for the whole film even before the scenes were shot; his only guidance was that he was told that the film is about the connection and love between a father and daughter. I mean the visuals are stunning too, I cannot comprehend the supercomputers that were used to simulate and render that black hole. The directors did have real scientists and professionals to guide and double check their work, to have the film be as close to reality as possible. Imagine the reactions a film like this would get if it aired in the 1950's or something. Many memorable scenes! That reunion at the end with Murph and Cooper never gets easier to rewatch :') Glad you enjoyed the film!

I think what may have confused you was thinking the black hole (Gargantua) and the wormhole was the same thing. It's not. They never planned on entering the black hole, that's a death sentence (according to physics, look up spagettification). They used the black hole to slingshot around gaining more velocity for the main ship so anne hathaway character could reach the other planet in the system and in that moment Cooper sacrified himself, he had no idea he would survive it. Should also be said that while the movie have a lot physics and math based on real models by Kip Thorne and his team... the moment we go into the black hole everything is just sci-fi. The amazing thing was them producing the visuals of the black hole for this movie, it was made before we actually had a real image of one (M87*) and they nailed it.

"This is like a horror film" - Hmm, let me think... imagine having to do things that make you feel very uncomfortable, thinking every minute that you could die, there's no escape, you're losing all your precious time with your loved ones on Earth... so yes, it really is like a horror film 😂 And what you said about why we should find another planet if we're going to destroy it anyway, like our Earth. That's true. Sad, but true.
