48:43, Anakin's the only one that has no problem doing that, he's different and you know why. When have you ever seen Obi Wan kill something that's not a droid, except for a few animals? Have you ever seen a Jedi kill a living being except for Anakin in any other way than deflecting a blaster? There's Windu on Jango Fett and Yoda when Order 66 is executed but besides that, I don't think we've ever seen a Jedi kill a sentient? Droids aren't living beings to that doesn't count. You saw Ahsoka give Anakin a disapproving headshake at 58:24 when he killed those henchmen. There's a reason why I told you to watch the episodes 4 at at a time. Next episode is a standalone episode and it would make sense to watch it with this arc in order to keep it 4 and 4. Next ARC is a 4-parter and if you want to watch the fill arc, you'll need to watch 5 episodes next time. So if you follow the chronological order, watch the next 5 episodes and watch them 4 by 4 after that until season 6 episode 5. Also, you sound like Tarkin, the guy you hated in the citadel-arc from season 3 when you talk about the Jedi's code.

Yeah I don't think I could ever be a proper jedi in situations like that. It goes back to the episode we saw where Anakin and Tarkin, where they are talking about how the Jedi code prevents them from achieving victory... like, why are "peacekeepers" leading the war effort? It makes no sense. The Jedi kill the "little guy" with little to no thought because they are armed and killing, but once the "big bad guy" comes up, they end up doing nothing, because they are unarmed. The separatists KNOW this about the jedi very well, and use that to their advantage... often mockingly so. But this is where Anakin makes a difference, because he goes into the gray area and does things no other jedi does to achieve victory; he force chokes his enemies, uses violence/intimidation to get information out of them, and is not afraid to kill them if he needs to. This is what made Anakin so effective during the war... the greatest warrior of the clone wars, but this is also ultimately why he became Vader. Just imagine how much quicker the situation would have ended if Anakin was already Vader here, with him not holding back against these slavers at all. Honestly, Obi Wan showed great restraint here, I could never lol So nice to see more reactions, I always enjoy it :D I think the next episode is standalone, so you could watch 5 episodes next. Can't wait to watch more!!

I'm just wondering what "little guy" are you talking about? Anakin's the only one that kills without remorse, I've never seen Obi Wan kill a sentient living being besides a certain someone in rebels, clones after order 66, deflecting stormtrooper blasts and a few animals, and in those scenarios, he was getting attacked, the slaver in episode 13 didn't attack him personally. The show's quite consistent in showing the Jedi not killing anything except droids and animals who attacked them first. It's a false statement to suggest that any Jedi's willing to kill henchmen and not the big guy. Windu even killed Jango in self defense, but the consequences were shown in season 2. Well, there's also Ahsoka in the upcoming episode but it's about it.

Well, from the top of my head, and limiting myself to only this show, only what has been watched to avoid spoilers, and not counting jedi that at some point later are no longer jedi, and also excluding the criteria you mentioned... not many examples. And it would be tough to find examples since the fight is literally against a droid army. But what do you think would've happened had the main enemy army consisted of living beings? Think about that, perhaps the answer to that question is what they should've done from the beginning... Killing in the name of self-defense is much harder to argue when you constantly and knowingly put yourself in danger by, for example, going on the front lines of a battle and commanding hundreds of soldiers, or by attacking the enemy. Like, what is up with Ki Adi Mundi ordering his soldiers to use flamethrowers against geonosians in the second season. Or Ahsoka also chopping geonosians alongside Anakin? We have to make so many exceptions and excuse all the death caused by the jedi. I mean, you're right, the jedi doing such things are few and far between, but let's not pretend like stuff like that never happens. Of course, Obi Wan, being the king he is, doesn't do that, so using him as an example is cheating lol

Noah

Ahsoka and Anakin are exceptions. We know that Anakin doesn't give a damn about killing, Ahsoka's a bit inconsistent but Ki Adi Mundi ordering flame throwers on Geonosians is almost like Obi Wan letting Rex kill that Zygerrian slaver, except for the fact that the geonosians ambushed Mundi's army while the Zygerrian slaver just sat there. That zygerrian slaver was unarmed and posed no real threat so Obi Wan couldn't do anything. I don't think the Jedi would've led the war-effort if the Separatist army was sentient because it would lead to life's being taken no matter what. Them being droids means that you really can't kill them. How many times haven't we watched R2 get blown into pieces and then being rebuilt and being himself again? I don't really think we're excusing. The Jedi code says that you can kill in self-defense and the kills we see from the Jedi are in self-defense with Anakin and Ahsoka being the biggest exceptions. Them allowing someone else to deliver the blow mayb be bending the rules a bit but it's like Batman doing the "I don't have to save you" to Ra's al Ghul.

Andres C

Yeah. I think the Jedi should've never joined the war and be more like the Bendu. I guess my biggest critique of the Jedi is them issuing orders to attack. Yes, maybe the ones delivering the final blow are the clones, but in my eyes, that doesn't make the Jedi any less guilty. Idk, the Jedi and the republic just have fallen so far from what they were meant to be. I liked Tales of the Jedi for this reason. I don't know enough Batman lore to know what you meant, but I trust it's true hahah.

Noah

I can see your point but I try to see it from a Jedi's perspective. You can't really argue in that case cause it depends on how the individual person views it. The jedi may think that letting someone else deliver the blow deprives them of any guilt, you may not. It's up to yourself. I'm not defending the Jedi. I mostly think the Separatists (and Dooku initially) were in the right but I'm just talking about the creators of the show. Also that Batman-reference is from Batman begins. Batman has a no kill rule and during the climax of that movie, he fights the antagonist (Ra's al ghul) on a monorail. It ends with his Batmobile destroying the rail and Batman uses his cape to fly away, saying "I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you" while leaving Ra's al ghul on the monorail which derails and crashes into a building and catches fire.
