Would it be better for my videos to include or not include the sound from the movie/series in the videos? I know some of you watch it as a watch along so not sure if it would be better for the movie/series to be muted. Let me know!

I've heard other creators say they're worried that studios might someday crack down hard on copyright if there's audio. But I love that you include the audio and it really helps with syncing up the video

Abby Jane

yeah I'm worried about that too :( would it still be helpful to include the audio for the first few minutes to help sync up?

Spooky Casper

Definitely! The first few mins would be a great compromise if you're worried

No audio please it makes it a pain to sync perfectly so we end up hearing two movies at slightly different speeds and any lag sends the whole thing west. The first 10 seconds of audio to get the sync right is all that’s is required after that I think most channels cut off the audio

IMO: I would just copy Popcorn In Bed and Natalie Gold. They have both been around for awhile; and have overcome a lot of the little obstacles and considerations. No need to re-invent the wheel. (Also find your own signature intro and outro touches to help build Brand Recognition.)

If you do go down that route, I'd suggest keeping your screen recording visible to everyone for maybe a minute or two into the actual movie/show. Not everyone watches on the same platforms, so once the feature starts, folks can get synched. How long it's visible is less important than having at least one edit point on screen. As long as you show that, anyone can synch up properly.

Bottom left corner. Blurred image with no sound after the first few minutes. Also include an elapsed time indicator. With the blurred movie playing it is possible to identify scene cuts, and fine tune the reaction video to the source material.
