I've been waiting for this, I thought this was going to be more of your vibe when you described what you like about comic-book movies. There's several nods to the original Christopher Reeves movie from 1978 so if you ever watch that, you'd find many elements that this movie took. Fun fact is that both David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult auditioned for the role of Superman, and Hoult's been very open about him glancing at the Lex Luthor-role and thinking that he'd have more fun doing that, and that he was quite happy to lose out on the role as Superman. Hoult's perfomance stood out to me because he's a truly accurate Lex Luthor and I remember thinking about it for weeks after I first saw the movie. He's the most hateable villain I can think off. And in case you didn't notice, Alan Tyduk provides the voice of Four/Gary, he's the same guy who voiced K-2SO in Andor and Rogue One. Speaking of Star Wars, David Corenswet is a very avid Star Wars-fan and has said that his absolute dream-role is to play an x-wing pilot, something Lucasfilm apparently is aware of. Mr Terrific's backstory is about him being intelligent and striving for perfektion, earning several accolades and wealth until his wife's death. Then he contemplated suicide but ended up becoming Mr Terrific instead. There's many Green Lanterns and this one (Guy Gardner) isn't usually the main Lantern. He's just as much of an asshole in the comics as he is in the movie. The plot-twist about Superman's biological parents was a creative liberty Gunn took (even though some comics have hinted at them being shady before) and it created discourse when the movie released. It's usually that they send him to Earth to save him from Krypton's destruction and that they encourage him to help humanity. Also Krypto's not usually Supergirl's dog and it was also one of the creative liberties Gunn took. He modeled Krypto after his own dog Ozu, and he has said that he included Krypto in the movie after thinking that his dog would've been a nightmare with superpowers. Gunn adopted Ozu from a rescue-shelter and because of his past life, Ozu was apparently very chaotic and difficult. According to Gunnz he ate his laptop and used to bite everyones feet. Krypto's not usually as chaotic and untrained but one trait that sticks with him is that he tends to get jealous easily. A follow-up called Man Of Tomorrow is filming in a few months and Gunn has revealed that it's a Superman/Lex-team up movie against a bigger threat (a supervillain called Brainiac). Hawkgirls actions of killing Boravias president Ghurkos is stated to have long-term consequences on the main DCU-storyline. It's about the government controlling rogue Metahumans who takes major geopolitical decisions on their own. The full picture is shown in Peacemaker season 2. I for one think it's quite reasonable to be weary when a person with the power to destroy earth if he wants to is free to roam on Earth. Theoretically, if you don't know Superman, how can anyone be certain that he's not going to snap one day and turn on the world? And that just because you happened to be born with certain powers. But Lex himself explains that he's just jealous. Lex is supposed to be the best possible human. He's the smartest man on Earth in the DC Universe (his intellect is DC:s equivalent to Tony Stark/Reed Richards) but Superman becomes the focal point of the world because he randomly happened land on Earth and be born with powers. Lex also believes that Superman is obstrucing human believes that Superman is obstructing human progress by making them complacent and that's why he says that "You're destroying us!". Him being a human with just his intellect and him not having any sympathetic motives is what really makes him interesting for me. I just hope Gunn doesn't try to redeem him in Man Of Tomorrow. Other than Supergirl and Man Of Tomorrow, Clayface is releasing around Halloween. It's a body-horror movie about an actor who comes across a substance which allows him to shapeshift and becomes one of Batman's villains. A tv-series called Lanterns is also scheduled to release on HBO in late summer this year. It's going to be True Detective inspired and more grounded compared to Superman and for a older audience. Starring Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre, it's about two Lanterns (the usual main ones) investigating a murder-mystery in the american heartland. It's created under the HBO banner just as Game Of Thrones, Euphoria, Penguin and other great shows and the people behind it are very merited. Damon Lindelof who was the showrunner of Lost, Watchmen and Thr Leftovers is one of them. Chris Mundy is also behind it and he has worked on series such as Ozark, Bloodline and so on. It'd be interesting if you did a poll on if you should react to it. An animated Mr Miracle series is also underway but there's little information on it. As you can hear DC is going to have alot of different tones and the creators behind the projects have alot of liberty. Marvel is lead by Kevin Feige who is the one making most of the decisions. Most Marvel-projects is tonally similar to each other and they're very keen on appealing to the masses. That's why Deadpool and Wolverine was such a big deal by Marvel for being rated R (even though it wasn't as mature), and Dr Strange 2 being such a big deal for having slight horror-elements. DC has mostly given their directors liberty even though WB-execs messed with Snyder's stuff, The Justice League and some other things. Of all the old DCEU movies, I think you'd be uninterested in Man Of Steel, BVS and Justice League but you may end up really enjoying Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Shazam!, and maybe even The Flash.

if the stars align and you're able to miss the sequel in theaters, it would be very nice to see your reaction, yes.
