Many war-movies covers the implications of war, not just the action and the battlefields. For a younger generation, it's quite informative to watch them to learn about certain things that shaped the world and how privileged some of us are. For example, I personally enjoy Rogue One the most out of every Star Wars movie and it's more of a war-movie than anything else. It covers the landscape, the implications of the war and how things are. It's most similar to Clone Wars in what it uncovers. If you choose like requests or more reactions in the new tier, I'll obviously request Blood Diamond, a movie that covers funding of war, child-soldiers, politics and mercenaries in more recent war that not that many has heard about. Sadly, I don't think there's enough people that have watched it for it to ever win a poll.

Great reaction! I do however think its worth mentioning that Mel Gibson took a LOT of liberties and diverted heavily from historical accuracy. If you wanna see a good depiction of fighting on Okinawa you really have to watch the Pacific.
