Obi-Wan sliced Maul's chest. If you pay close attention and rewatch Qui-Gon's death in Phantom Menace, you'll see that Maul tries to pull the exact same move that he did on Qui-Gon but Obi-Wan reads it. Obi-Wan is a user of lightsaber form III which is a very defensive form that focuses on strong defensive coverage (very effective against blaster fire). When he ignites his lightsaber in episode 20, he begins his stance in typical form III but you see how he then switches position. The switch is to form IV a form Qui-Gon (but also Yoda) used. It's focuses on acrobatics but it's quite draining and ineffective in prolonged combat. Anyways, Maul reads it and tries to pull his Qui-Gon-move on Obi-Wan who reads it. It's a neat detail. Also, Maul being obsessed with Obi-Wan gets blown way out of proportion. When Maul first returned, he did want revenge on Obi-Wan but after killing Satine on Mandalore, his main focus shifts. The whole Son Of Dathomir-comic covers his vendetta against Sidious and in season 7 of the Clone Wars, he only tried to lure the Republic to Mandalore to kill Anakin and destroy Sidious plan. This isn't really a spoiler for the ongoing show Maul: Shadow Lord but so far, he only mentions Obi-Wan once and it's when he has flashback-visions. His main goal during the Imperial era is to get revenge on Sidious (and find an apprentice) rather than Obi-Wan. He only really goes after Obi-Wan after season 3 episode 3 of Rebels.

you're not beinbg slow lol obi cut rhough his saber AND his sternum. it's hard to see on purpose because it was on Disney XD so couldnt be too violent but essentially he opened him up like a zipper from his chest downwards lol it's a short fight because obi-wan knew Mauls fighting style and simply out smarted him, rising above as he says.

Altho Mauls death seems simple at first it was a samurai stand off which usually ends very fast.. there are many small things that you dont see at first time.. for example that Obi-Wan changes his stance from the prequels that he always used to the one that Qui-Gon Jinn used in Phantom Menace.. Obi-Wan baited Maul to do the same exact move that he did against Qui-Gon but Obi-Wan was ready and cut Maul vertically this time :D first time horizontal now vertical.. :D Dave Filoni has some good sense of humor.. also at this stage, Obi-Wan was far superior to Maul...

The little droids that roll around are called Mouse droids and they're basically mailmen + maintenance workers although someone with the right know-how can modify them to serve as spies like we saw in episode 21, the maneuver you were referring to is Holdo's Maneuver but it got soft retconned in Rise of Skywalker as people realized that most of the original story would have gotten messed up because at that point why didn't the rebels just strap a hyper drive to a rock and slam it through both death stars so they made it into a one in a million opportunity that only worked that one time, in regards to what you said about Thrawn at the end, that is true for both Canon and legends timelines as he never fails due to lack of planning or ego or other common flaws among imperial leaders but rather due to getting hit by left field attacks that genuinely nobody could have expected. As for him wanting to kill Bendu, I think its moreso that he represents something that Thrawn can never truly understand which is the force, Thrawn will never be able to use it or truly plan against it as he isn't force sensitive so in his mind its better to destroy it. As for Bendu and his fence sitting, I don't believe its mainly because of superiority although it is a factor but rather on the principle on following the will of the force absolutely, if the force willed it then he would have gotten involved but if it doesn't then he stays out of it, even if it means mass suffering and oppression, Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords expounds on this idea much better than can be typed in a paragraph

I totally agree the Season 2 finale is a masterpiece and easily some of the best, if not the best episodes we've had so far. Just as a bit of info: the Maul series is set about a year after The Clone Wars. Regarding the character designs for Yoda, Anakin, and Obi-Wan... I’m not feeling them at all. You can tell who they're supposed to be, but I think they could have done a much better job with those three. I’m also so glad you’re experiencing Star Wars for the first time together with us, your community, instead of watching it alone. Really looking forward to Season 4!

Maul asked Kenobi if Luke was the chosen one. Realizing he was, Maul was finally able to let go, as he knew Luke would carry out his revenge for him. With no revenge or hatred left in him, Maul finally died. You cannot see how his body got sliced like a zipper, but I think you can see a bit of smoke coming from his body after Obi Wan sliced him? Also, it was revealed in interviews that the original plan was to have Vader kill Maul, but it was found to be more poetic if it was Kenobi who did it. I'm glad they decided to do it this way! I think people do not listen carefully enough to the words of Bendu. After the death of the mortis gods, Bendu might be one of the oldest living beings in the universe. The amount of power and knowledge he possesses cannot be emphasized enough. I mean, he became immortal, so he was given this gift. He mentions several things that are interesting: 1) "I will not fight your petty battles": When you live thousands of years, I'm pretty sure you have lived through more wars than you can count. At that point you gain an outsider perspective -> It's all the same cycle, over and over again. People in power fighting people who want to be in power. In the trilogies, we see the republic, the empire, the new republic, and the first order. How many battles have we seen by this point? It's a never ending struggle. I can, in a way, see why he calls them "petty battles" when you view it all past one human lifetime. 2) "Perhaps it is the will of the force that the jedi, and all your kind, perish!": Bendu carries out the force's bidding. I don't know what he has done to be given the gift of retaining consciousness after death, but maybe it is this servitude? But he probably sensed this shift in the force regarding force wielders. Anakin was the force's way of destroying the jedi and sith and restoring balance, and it seems that the Bendu acknowledges this. So he attempts restoring balance to the planet by attacking both the rebels and the empire. I don't think he gives a damn about helping Kanan or his cause. I believe the Bendu, as a being, is closer to the mortis gods than he is to any person, jedi, sith, or creature in the galaxy. 3) "You cannot see, but I can. I see your defeat, like many arms surrounding you in a cold embrace.": Bendu tells this to Thrawn. I believe Bendu is looking through the force, perhaps into the future, to see Thrawns fate (his defeat). I'm not sure how to interpret those exact words as they're a bit poetic, but cold embrace to me sounds like he will be defeated/killed by the rebels eventually? I don't know if, where and how that will happen, but the Bendu has now told us about it. Season 4 has 15 episodes, so yeah, 4 more reactions until it's done :') This series has flown by. Even IF you don't get the Ahsoka series right after this, you'll most likely watch a live action series, almost guaranteed to be the Obi Wan series next. Ahsoka might just end up being second in line. I cant wait for all of it!!

In regard to your watch order for your next star wars show, I think that watching the live action shows in release order would make the most sense since every show (besides Kenobi and The Acolyte which you could watch at any point really) are set all around the same time in the galaxy. The release order also happens to be the chronological order so despite your strong wishes, for the best experience, I wouldn't recommend watching Ahsoka next. But the payoff will be so worth it for watching it in release order in my opinion as you get a better sense of where the galaxy is at in that time and get to watch a larger story unfold :)

Really enjoyed this! (I'm pumped for the future and also stress about which order you'll take lol)
