This episode is based on the Akira Kurosawa film Seven Samurai. A clone wars episode also homaged this. A village of farmers hired bounty hunters and then recruited Anakin Obi and Ahsoka to protect them from Hondo and his pirates The raiders’ species is klatooinian. In Legends they’re slightly described as canine, but not in canon so far. Fans commonly do see them as dog people. Some were in 3 of the live action films but not too prominent. You saw one slightly prominent in a clone wars episode. He partnered with young Boba and Aurra Sing when the former was trying to get revenge on Mace Windu. Aurra shot him in the face when he was about to sell them out Yup, that was a lothcat Cara Dune is a former rebel soldier And that’s what foundling means. He was taken into the mandalorian culture The liquid in the vats was spotchka, mentioned throughout the episode. It’s what’s brewed from the krill. Yup, taking the helmet off in front of others means no longer being allowed to wear it. Weird huh? When mandos were putting their helmets on and off like nothing in two whole shows? What’s that about?

Love the Star Wars funko pops in the background! This episode was essentially Bryce Dallas Howard's directing debut barring some shorts and documentaries. My guess is she got an in at Lucasfilm thanks to her father Ron Howard who directed the Han Solo movie. Her episodes have been some of my favorites in the series. She does some fun ones so keep an eye out for her name!
