12 MONKEYS (1995) - Full Watch Along

12 Monkeys is a 1995 American science fiction thriller film directed by Terry Gilliam from a screenplay by David Peoples and Janet Peoples, based on Chris Marker's 1962 short film La Jetée. It stars Bruce Willis, Madeleine Stowe, Brad Pitt, and Christopher Plummer. Set in a post-apocalyptic future devastated by disease, the film follows a convict who is sent back in time to gather information about the man-made virus that wiped out most of the human population on the planet.

Oooh great! 12 Monkeys - I hope you‘ll like it (still have to watch your watch-a-long). It’s an amazing movie. If you’ll love this, then you’ll love "Brazil" by Terry Gilliam too. HIGHLY recommended!

Fun story about Brazil: When Terry Gillian delivered his version of the movie it was 5-10 minutes over the contracted running time. The studio HATED the ending and decided they had the right to edit the film because it didn't fulfill the contract (You can watch the studio version on the criterion version of the movie) Terry had a sneak screening for the Los Angeles film critics association who promptly voted it best picture of the year. The studio released the directors version of the movie after that. Also, still hoping you'll react to "Sex, Lies, and Videotape". Absolutely no one has reacted to it and just the movie title alone should get lots of clicks.

This is my third watch, I definitely enjoyed it the most this time since I grasped it better and because of your enjoyment of it. I agree with your thoughts on Madeline, there's something very special about her that made her unique. Willis is great and Pitt is amazing in his performance. I believe it's likely that thanks to Cole's phone call they were able to make changes and break the loop this time. That's why the future scientist, Jones, is on the place sitting next to the villain. She arrived as "insurance" to make sure the mission would succeed. Their goal was not to stop the virus transmission, but to obtain a pure sample of the virus so that they could make a cure.

Hey, great reaction. I really love this movie. :) Just a few comments: James says in the movie that you cannot change the future. So in the end nothing is changed. James get shot at the airport, the virus is released. But in the movie James explain what is the goal: He needs to find the original virus, next a scientist will travel back in time, collect the original virus and next it will be analyzed in the future. And this it what happens in the end. We see the female scientist in the airplane. So we can assume that sometime far in the future humans are back on the surface of the earth. ;)

I remember loving it when it first came out, so well done. I have been wanting to re-watch it before I start the TV series, but never got to it, until now, that you reacted to it, I have now seen it again, for the 3rd time, twice when it first came out. Coby great reaction,
