This is one of my all time favorite movies. Did you catch at the beginning (after your hearing came back!) that the further you got away from Earth, the older the music/radio transmissions got?

I was going to say..you will love Interstellar but by the comments you made II think you already saw it.....Then let me reccomend 2 more movies: Bicentennial Man with Robin Williams....Amazing movie....Its the Forrest Gump of Sci Fy. If you never seen it...Pleaseantville: beautiful movie...both shot exquisitly.

I had the same reaction as you when I saw John Hurt. He’s unrecognizable. Jodie was so great here. I thought her character had a similar vibe to Clarice in Silence of the Lambs. I had been told by some people that they didn’t like the ending, I think they just wanted to see a typical sci fi 👽 alien. Great cast. Two Alien alumni with Hurt, and Skeritt. Did you think the alien would take the form of her dad?

Maybe not for reaction...

During the scene when her father dies you seemed very focused on what was in the medicine cabinet. I do not think you noticed (if you did, I missed it) how that scene was shot? You are watching her but then it turns out you are watching her though the mirror. Many find it an interesting shot. Do you think the investigation committee/government's actions regarding hiding the proof of her going while at the same time saying there is no proof she went is what would happen in a situation like this? (spoilers if you plan to read the book, then skip this question). You talked about her having to go alone. In the book more than one person goes (five if I remember correctly). Do you think more people would have believed her/them if multiple people came back saying they went somewhere? Do you think the number of people does not matter because people will believe what they want to saying they were all in on the hoax together?
