“Be the ball!” Lucky I didn’t need to actually know anything about golf! ;) And now, thanks to you all, I will never forget Bill Murray’s brother Brian… who surprisingly wrote this film! Reaction highlights to released on YouTube next Monday July 21st! 🖤

CADDYSHACK (1980) - Full Watch Along

Caddyshack is a 1980 American sports comedy film directed by Harold Ramis, written by Brian Doyle-Murray, Ramis and Douglas Kenney, and starring Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight (his final film role), Michael O'Keefe and Bill Murray with supporting roles by Sarah Holcomb, Cindy Morgan, and Doyle-Murray. It tells the story of a caddie, vying for a caddie scholarship, who becomes involved in a feud on the links between one of the country club's founders and a nouveau riche guest. A subplot involves a greenskeeper who uses extreme methods against an elusive gopher.

Great film! The natural response to "will be released on Monday" is "Well? Everybody's waiting!"

You're struggling with this one because you're not properly equipped, Coby. There needs to be a bong with a gatling bowl on your lap and a lighter in your left hand. Only then can you channel the gopher.

Caddyshack is so much fun and see these great comedians in one movie. I love Rodney Dangerfield, so I thought he was great. His best movies are: "Black to School" (1986) "Easy Money" (1983) I did like Chevy Chase and did watch "Memoirs of an Invisible Man" (1992) My Favorite Chase movies are: "Fletch" (1985) "National Lampoon's Vacation" (1983) I enjoy them all "Three Amigos" (1986) "Spies Like Us (1985)

Glad you did not faint with the heat hahahaha.

Few people who were not aware of Saturday Night Live during its first and second season get the impact of Chevy Chase having a scene with Bill Murray. Chevy was the "breakout" star of the first season, not just in the skits but being the only anchor for the Weekend Update segment ("I'm Chevy Chase... and you're not.). Chevy was the only original cast member with only a one-year contract and he opted out of participating the second season. Bill Murray was brought in to replace Chevy in the skits. Others took over Weekend Update. So the one awkward scene in Bill's cabin is the only time the two were filmed together. In my opinion, the weakest scene of the entire film.

One of the all time great comedies. If you want to stay on the Golf theme "Tin Cup " is a real good movie. Stars Kevin Costner.

I was worried for a while that you wouldn't recognize Brian Doyle. Whew 😅 Ted Knight was known as the boss on the Mary Tyler Moore show, but he's amazing in this role as Judge Smails. "Won't you be my friend, Danny?" It was too funny when you said you would rather the bishop get killed than the gopher. ha ha You didn't react to Harold Ramis' name, but he's made great movies and is a big part of the reason Bill Murray became a Hollywood star. He co-wrote and directed this movie as well writing and/or directing Animal House, Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, National Lampoon's Vacation and more. Amazing talent.

Douglas Kenney, the writer of the original script, strongly disliked the addition of the gopher and the film as a whole because a good portion of the original story was left out.

Nou quite to the level of Animal House but still fun. The only time I've seen Dangerfield play against his usual on-screen persona is in the film Natural Born Killers.

Memoirs of an Invisible Man? With Daryl Hannah right? Holy crap I haven't seen that in.... Whew a LONG time. That would be a good one to do for watching movies you've seen before like you talked about in the live stream.

Great reaction. The movie was supposed to be in Nebraska, but it was filmed in Miami...and they didn't tell the golf course that they were planning on using explosives...I'm surprised you didn't recognize Maggie (Danny's irish girlfriend) as the mayor's 13 year old daughter in Animal House...if you like pirate movies, check out Tommy Lee Jones and Michael O'Keefe (Danny) in Nate & Hayes (1983).
