As promised in today’s Live… Hachi. I was in two minds as to whether or not to post this one as I’m just so distraught for most of it. But my gosh is it a beautiful story of love and loyalty and just how beautiful dogs and all animals are. Hug your fur babies if you have any. For us, if we’re lucky, they join a portion of our lives. But for them, we are their whole life. 🖤

HACHI (2009) - Full Watch Along

Hachi: A Dog's Tale is a 2009 American drama film and a remake of Seijirō Kōyama's 1987 Japanese film Hachikō Monogatari. The original film told the true story of the Akita dog named Hachikō who lived in Japan 1923–1935. Hachi: A Dog's Tale is an updated American adaptation based on the Japanese film. This version, which places it in a modern American context, was directed by Lasse Hallström, written by Stephen P. Lindsey and Kaneto Shindo, and produced by Richard Gere, Bill Johnson and Vicki Shigekuni Wong. The film stars Gere, Joan Allen, Sarah Roemer, Jason Alexander, and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa.

I know you said you were a slobbering mess during the whole thing and didn't want to post it, but I'm glad you decided to yesterday Coby. It's your real reaction to a beautiful film and that's what were here for. I'll be watching and crying along with you tonight my 2 girls- Sandie (a medium labradoodle) and her little sister Sophie ( a boston terrier)

My dog used to sit in my mom’s lap all day. When she fell asleep with him in her lap he was always careful not to wake her up. We lost my mom four years ago and you can tell he misses her. When I was in the hospital a real part of my motivation to get better was to not inflict yet another loss on Kong (my dog). Halloween movie suggestion: JACOB’S LADDER a horror film inspired by THE TIBETAN BOOK OF THE DEAD. Directed by ADRIAN LYNE, it is a psychological descent that beautifully weaves together past, present, and future. It’s packed with eerie atmosphere, surreal imagery, and enough jump scares to keep you on edge. TIM ROBBINS delivers the performance of a lifetime, also stars a pre-HOME ALONE MACAULAY CULKIN. The ending is emotionally powerful in a way you don’t normally expect for a horror movie.

This reaction destroyed me, I have been hugging my cat all day and telling her how much I love her. Great reaction Coby

Ok well back to say, Beautiful reaction Coby. You have nothing to apologize for. I never thought I would re -watch this movie not because its bad but it's just SO heartbreaking and once was enough for me. But I'm glad I watched it with you. I didn't cry as much this time because I knew what to expect but everytime you burst into tears it got me... anyway again Wonderful reaction Coby, you have a heart of gold :)

Hachikō Monogatari is a Japanese film made in 1987 (this one was in 2009) and is closer to the real life story of Hachi. Hard to find, but worth the search.
