I hope you have "Once" and "Begin Again" on your list because it's the same director, both music-orientated and both give you "Sing Street" feels.

I’m so glad you put up a discussion group for this Coby. First of all thank you 🙏 for reacting to it, and thank you to whichever Patreon member requested it, because I really loved this movie, more than I ever would have thought. It’s quietly brilliant. It’s honest, the kid actors were so good, and could really play. It reminds me of being that age. First getting into music, getting a guitar, and forming a band. The scene where every kid is smoking, and trying to be cool, and talking about music with this monumental level of importance. Damned if this didn’t take me back to those innocent times.. I know you really love this particular era of music a lot. What are some of your favorite songs from this era???

Once, Begin Again, and the much lesser known but also great film from the same Writer/Director …..Flora and Son. John Carney is working on his next film that’s coming out next year called Power Ballad, with Paul Rudd. Definitely do Once next. It was his first film that gained notoriety and had a musical component. The other ones I mentioned have that same type of theme. Hope guided by music. I think you’ll like them all.

Believe it or not, I love Don’t You Want Me. That’s the perfect pop song. I mean, I love my classic rock and metal, but I’ve definitely got a soft spot for Brit pop of this era.

Full watch along coming? I actually picked this up on sale a few weeks ago and haven't watched it yet.
