I really liked it Coby. Sean Penn’s performance was excellent. Great cast. Was literally on the edge of my seat. Like you said, it never got slow. Yeah, De Caprio, Del toro, and the daughter is a fantastic actress. And why am I not surprised American Girl is one of your favorites? Lifelong Petty fan here too.

I really want to see this, but haven't yet! I have to wait to watch your reaction, but I'm looking forward to coming back to see it. Awesome selection, Coby!

The movie has drawn sharp conservative backlash for its portrayal of left-leaning revolutionaries as sympathetic anti-fascist figures clashing with cartoonish authoritarian villains, which some interpret as glorifying "left-wing terrorism" or anti-conservative propaganda. Critics like Ben Shapiro called it an "apologia for radical left-wing terrorism," Armond White labeled it a "reckless ode to radical terrorism" and "the year’s most irresponsible movie," and outlets like The Blaze and National Review accused it of romanticizing political assassination—especially amid 2025's real-world tensions, including the fictionalized assassination of conservative figure Charlie Kirk in their narratives. Author Bret Easton Ellis even suggested the rave reviews stem from "leftist sensibilities" propping up a film that "hasn't read the room." These takes often frame the film's left-wing network as a stand-in for modern "antifa" and its villains as Trump-era conservatives! Not a movie I'm interested in watching...
