Hi hi everyone! I don’t know what was going on with the chat on Wednesday night but I was replying to everything and none of us could see each other… Hopefully tonight has no issues and we can chat! See you for some magic at 7pm EST. As you know, this movie is absolutely awesome, and I get one of my all time loves and heroes pop up. Do you know who? 🖤

THE PRESTIGE (2006) - MOVIE REACTION - First Time Watching

The Prestige is a 2006 science fiction psychological thriller film directed by Christopher Nolan, who co-wrote the screenplay with his brother Jonathan Nolan and is based on the 1995 novel by Christopher Priest. It stars Hugh Jackman as Robert Angier and Christian Bale as Alfred Borden, rival stage magicians in Victorian London who feud over a perfect teleportation illusion. The cast also features Michael Caine, Scarlett Johansson, Rebecca Hall, Andy Serkis, and David Bowie as Nikola Tesla. The film reunites Nolan with actors Bale and Caine from Batman Begins and returning cinematographer Wally Pfister, production designer Nathan Crowley, and editor Lee Smith. Coby have you ever watched Stanley Kubrick’s 1975 film Barry Lyndon?

Paul Hildebrand

I definitely knew when he showed up during the FWA. Fun premiere tonight!

Ha well that was cool Bowe surprise meant alot to you...perfect Tesla. Saying a lot but this is Nolan's best flick ihmo...he has a lot more commercially successful and culturally more significant...but this is his best imho. You caught the twist fairly early...smartie. Throwing a rec out there, if I can be so bold, that is so damn underrated and I've only seen one person ever react to it. It's top 5 for me personally...if you haven't seen it....Out Of Sight. 1998. Soderbrough's best imo...made Clooney into a movie star and best thing Jennifer Lopez ever did. Anyways keep trucking...you are good at this. Cheers.

This is one of NOLAN'S best films , and i've always been intrigued by Magic , so this was so entertaining for me and props to you for spotting the twist early on . Chistian Bale and Hugh Jackman are both great in this And for more Bowie i would definitely recommend labyrinth .
