Part 2 in the trilogy was just as awesome, if not better… especially since it’s Paris! So now tell me, do we complete the trilogy and do Before Midnight? 🖤

Just I then? It's funny, I never got the Julie Delpy thing back in the 90's when she was cast in EVERYTHING as the quintessentially "French" girl. This film reminded me why! Her "acting" seems extra wooden like she doesn't have to try - but the character is awful too and if I was him I'd be glad I dodged that bullet and be looking for an excuse to bail! Coupled (pun) with that is the fact as is so often the case that HE is the romantic, HE showed up and kept the faith. She was quite willing to go off with rando's while keeping her options open for a better offer. Now it has all backfired, she is "jaded" as you said; but hey, welcome to reciprocity. Reality bites! Maybe the next film will redeem the whole "situation-ship" I'm keen to find out.

Wonderful reaction! Do I recall correctly that you’ve said romance films are not your thing? I hope you don’t mind me saying that it seems that romance films appear to be very much your thing. They appear to touch you quite deeply. You seem to get so personally invested in the potential romantic relationships of couples in film. I hope I didn’t overstep with that observation. You’re amazing.

Complete the trilogy, of course. It´s the best trilogy of cinema.

Oh you cut out the ending part where she says, “Baby, you’re going to miss your plane,” and he says, smiling, “I know,” implying that he stayed in Paris, at least a little longer.

Hi Coby, The thing that I found remarkable in "Before Sunset" was Julie Delpy's acting and character arc. It the first film, "Before Sunrise" she portrayed intelligence, some savvy, but also the innocence of youth. In this film she was far more neurotic, disguising that she had been obsessed with him while acting that she wasn't, and had a hint of desperation to recapture that connection from years ago. And even though she expresses bravado about the life she's lived and where she is in life, that coceals a deeper sadness. There's more that's happened to her that we don't know. It's a portrayal that reminds me a bit of Blanche DuBois in "A Streetcar Named Desire" in how Julie Delpy's Character has changed. Dave
