We're glad you made it too! :)

My parents used to rent this out for on video when we were kids all the time! It's a classic but the scary bits were too scary for us really in hindsight. Love Dudley Moore in this. Coby it's got to be a shock to see Chevy Chase in his pomp compared to on Community as Piers!

This movie is a lot of fun. It was one of those movies you might catch the in the middle while it’s playing on TV, but it still hooks you in. Goldie is very sweet and funny, Chevy is a master of physical comedy, and Burgess Meredith as always steals the show. I may watch this and your Caddyshack reaction as double feature tonight. Have yourself another great weekend in France 🇫🇷 Coby.

Glad you made it to the chat too Coby...to be honest, I'm pretty chuffed you're in France because I get to join in the chat on the same day as everyone else.... I'll shed a little tear when you and Cash cross back over the pond...not that a 2am start/3am finish will ever stop me though...

Actually Goldie has done some dramatic work. Check out Deceived (1991) or Sugarland Express (1974)

Jim

Goldie Hawn had a serious role in “Sugarland Express”

The criminal whose alias was “The Dwarf” had the last name of Stiltskin. There is a famous story by the Brothers Grimm called “Rumplestiltskin” who is a dwarf. That’s why the criminal’s alias was “The Dwarf.”

Hi Coby - Burgess Meredith had a long career in films and TV from the 30's onward. He was an original member of the Actors Studio and President of Actors Equity. He played The Penguin in the original Batman TV series. He also stared in one of the best episodes of The Twilight Zone: Time Enough to Last. You should consider reviewing it. Cheers! Dave

As Jim mentioned, the assassin in the film was named Rupert Stilskin, which is very close to the fairy tale villain's name. IRL you would have to wonder how much his parents hated having a child to name him that. It's like when parents think it is cute to give them funny names . There are people who were actually named Peter Rabbit, Chris Kringle, and so on. Although, it could have been worse, his father could have named him Sue.
