MY MAN GODFREY (1936) - MOVIE REACTION - First Time Watching FULL MOVIE

My Man Godfrey is a 1936 American screwball comedy film directed by Gregory La Cava and starring William Powell and Carole Lombard, who had been briefly married years before appearing together in the film. The screenplay for My Man Godfrey was written by Morrie Ryskind and Eric S. Hatch, with uncredited contributions by La Cava, based on Hatch's 1935 novel, 1101 Park Avenue. The story concerns a socialite who hires a derelict to be her family's butler, and then falls in love with him. Hello everyone and welcome to The Coby Show! Every now and then I watch a movie just so I can be ready to watch your reaction to it. This was one of those times. I’m so glad I did. Very enjoyable. Some of the interactions between Godfrey and Irene made me think about skits by George Burns and Gracie Allen. Very cute film. Wonderful reaction.

I really enjoyed watching this Coby. This is a very funny, and sweet movie. The performances are amazing, and the fact that it still holds up 90 years later, is a landmark achievement. I hope you have an amazing week.

One rabbit hole provided for your pleasure, my lady. "The Thin Man" (1934) "After the Thin Man" (1936) "Another Thin Man" (1939) "Shadow of the Thin Man" (1941) "The Thin Man Goes Home" (1944) "Song of the Thin Man" (1947) "One Way Passage" (1932) "Manhattan Melodrama" (1934) " The Great Ziegfeld" (1936) "Libeled Lady" (1936) "I Love You Again" (1940) "Love Crazy" (1941) "Life with Father" (1947) No Powell, but a similar vibe as "MY MAN GODFREY" "You Can't Take It with You" (1938)

Ok, watching the whole movie with the group was a lot of fun (Despite my accidental demotion!). Looking forward to the next one! Always an exciting time at the Coby Show!

I agree with just about everyone “The Thin Man” should be next. For something different, I would enjoy watching Coby react to “Double Indemnity”.
