Adds 100+ moodlets in reaction to nearby Sims' moods.

The way Sims in The Sims 4 react to each other has long felt flat and underwhelming to me. For instance, what's the point in having an Evil Sim if they're not going to relish in the anguish of those whose suffering they've caused? What's the point of an attraction system if your Sim isn't going to feel tense when a repulsive Flirty Sim makes their way across the bar and hits on them?

In my never-ending quest for a deeper gameplay experience, this mod aims to expand the emotion system, allowing Sims to be influenced by any visible (i.e. extreme) moods of the Sims around them.

What This Mod Does

Dynamic Moodlets: Sims now gain moodlets based on nearby Sims' extreme moods, such as Very Angry/Furious or Very Sad/Depressed. Sims aren't the only ones impacted, however. Cats, dogs, foxes, and horses are impacted too!

Trait-based Reactions: The moodlet a Sim receives is influenced by factors such as their relationship with the moody Sim, personality traits, age, and even their skills! For pets, the factors the mod considers are their relationship to the moody Sim, their personality traits, and their species.

100+ Unique Moodlets to Experience: The mod adds over 100 new moodlets that cover a broad range of reactions and Sims. All moodlets are spell-checked, maxis-match, and translated across the 18 supported languages. If there are any translations that you feel could be improved, don't hesitate to reach out!

Balanced for Gameplay: All moodlets are balanced in accordance with typical EA moodlets. Multiple extreme moods can affect a Sim simultaneously, but moodlets from the same extreme mood will not stack. For instance, two Very Angry Sims in a room won't double the tension (or amusement) a Happy Sim experiences.

The Three Types of Moodlets a Sim Can Receive

Proximity-Based: These moodlets are only active when Sims share the same room or are in close proximity to one another.

Lingering Proximity-Based: These moodlets remain active for up to one Sim hour after either the emotionally charged Sim calms down or the two Sims no longer share the same room.

Chance-Based: These moodlets are dependent on chance. Some traits like Self-Absorbed or Oblivious (Kuttoe), as well as a Sim's own extreme mood may decrease the chance that they even react. The longer a Sim stays near an emotionally charged Sim, the higher the chance of them acquiring a moodlet. Once acquired, the Sim will be locked out of receiving similar moodlets for a few in-game hours.

Only Extreme Moods?

There are exceptions, but for the most part, Sims will only feel pressure from the following moods: Very Angry, Enraged, Very Confident, Very Embarrassed, Mortified, Very Energized, Very Flirty, Very Focused, Very Happy, Very Inspired, Very Playful, Hysterical, Very Sad, Terrified, Very Tense, Very Uncomfortable.

This is in keeping with the spirit of the mod, that the mood is visible enough for others to react to. Also, adding the broadcasters this mod runs on to every mood and Sim would most likely hinder the game's performance.

Asleep exception: If your Sim is awake around a sleeping Sim, there’s a chance they'll pick up a “bored” buff (Loners and certain other Sims will never receive this). There's also a chance that any nearby pets may get the zoomies, depending on the time of day.

Flirty exception: When a Flirty Sim focuses their attention on another Sim, that Sim's reaction will vary depending on their attraction level (requires Lovestruck). Also, Unflirty Sims and children may feel tense around such displays.

This looks great! Does it pair well with Lumpinou mood pack?

tyjokr

It won't conflict with it. I can add expanded functionality for Mood Pack users in a future update if that's something people are interested in. For now, the mod only references the EA moods.

Jacinda

Ah! I see, thank you for the information. Since there's no conflict, I will definitely use this then, and hope for a mood pack functionality in the future! Thanks again!

I love this mod idea! Will this work okay if I'm using Chingyu's Buff Replacements?

Hi tyjork, I really love your custom mood! I found out that your mod's Korean translation is a bit off, so I made some adjustments and would like to share it with you for other Korean users. Is there any way I can share this with you?

2026-09-12 22:00 Tried this out and got a moodlet that felt odd: https://imgur.com/a/oeN89Uk I'm not sure why the sim felt this way about her granddaughter's confidence. The sim with this moodlet is Active, Self-Assured, Outgoing, Lovebug, Perfectionist, and an Art Lover.

Hi tyjokr! I wanted to report a UI issue I’ve been experiencing that may be related to Mood Pressure. Whenever a Sim is angry, irritated, or in a generally negative mood, the action queue starts behaving strangely. The white overlay in the queue rapidly moves up and down, almost like invisible interactions are being repeatedly added and removed in the background. Sims also becomes momentarily unresponsive, or there’s a noticeable delay when trying to get them to perform an action. I do have most of your behaviour-related mods installed, so I can’t say for certain which one might be causing it. That said, because the issue only occurs when a Sim is in an unpleasant mood, I thought Mood Pressure could potentially be related. https://imgur.com/a/UwHNtIQ

This is one of my favorite mods by you. I constantly take it in and out of my game because I swear I won't need it all the time... to realize I do. It goes really well with making the gameplay more difficult, in a way. And that's incredibly needed in Sims 4 as I've been a fan of The Sims since Sims 1 and I tend to be gameplay type of player more so than any other kind. Thank you for this incredible mod! 🙂

Hi, first of all, thanks for all your amazing mods!! Quick question: I see that the mods support all languages, but what does that mean? Does that mean the mods don't need to be translated? Thanks so much for your reply!

Hello Tyjokr! I keep getting a better exception on Mood Pressure. I removed it a while ago, but added it back in again now and got the same exception again. I don't know the situation that triggers it, but the better exceptions mentions bad tuning. This is the reason I got from BE: Exception when applying action for loot tyjokr_MoodPressure_loot_buff_Flirty(loot_actions=(, , ), run_test_first=False, tests=CompoundTestList([])) (AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'aspects') I can ignore it, just thought you'd maybe want to know. I have the full report as well if you need it :) Thanks for all your hard work, and remember to take breaks!!
