For me it feels more like uncertainty. I don't think Jasper really knows what to feel for Vincent's return of kindness. Even in his own pack he was expected to work for the pack with little too no gain for himself. Where Vincent is insisting that he takes part of the load himself while Jasper take some R&R. Something that he would be reprimanded for were he still with his pack.
