Growth is like adulthood—where you'll spend most of your time as a practitioner. But just as adulthood is shaped by childhood, your growth is shaped by everything that came before. So it's important to dwell in the previous sections, just as children should dwell in childhood. Some kids, practitioners, and even training organizers may want to skip those earlier stages, but that'll only cause later struggles.

Growth is spirited play and adaptive movement skills. Likewise, developing spirited play and adaptive movement skills is how you grow as a mover. Play results in growth, and growth results in play. As a radical departure from capitalist reality, in LMA, adulthood doesn't mean the end of play but the fine-tuning of it.

Our early movements and activities might look worlds apart from our competition videos, but to stick with our tree analogy, so does an acorn from an oak tree. The beginning of skill doesn't look like its later expression, but expecting or forcing it to will rob the seed from becoming a tree and break the spirit of practitioners.
