47 – Cartooning & Politics w/ Barry Deutsch (Patreon)

Sam sits down with writer/artist Barry Deutsch (The Nib, Hereville, SuperButch, Lefty Cartoons, Ampersand) to talk about life as a cartoonist, the death of newspaper comics and the rise of the internet, drawing inspiration from boredom and frustration, on what makes good representation, and the mental gymnastics of centrists and the Intellectual Dark Web.

Barry has been nominated for many awards, including an Eisner, and has won the Charles M. Schulz Award, the Sydney Taylor Book Prize, the Oregon Book Award, the Sybil, among others.
