This game is for practitioners who have difficulty recognizing when they're close to the wall, ropes, cage, or about to run into another practitioner.

Start out facing each other in your fighting stances. The Lead partner will try to walk the Follow partner onto the wall. While moving backward, the Follow partner will try to get close to the walls without actually running into them and circle the perimeter. The Follow should avoid looking over their shoulder to find the wall if possible. The goal is for the Follow to develop an accurate sense of where everything is through experience, recall, and deduction based on everything else they can see. The Lead partner adds pressure and distraction, which requires the Follow to increase the breadth of their perception to not only what's before them.

(If you don't see the gif moving, look at this unit from a browser)

If you don't have a partner, you can circle the perimeter on your own, using your back foot to let you know when you're getting too close to something.

You can also walk backward onto a wall, getting as close as possible, anticipating where the wall is, and then seeing how you've done.
