Building from heel turns against the wall, we're moving onto freestanding heel turns.
Target A is to the left of the screen; target B is to the right. I start facing A and back heel turn, then turn my head to look at my target, then back step toward A. Back heel turn followed by a back step.
Then I face B and front heel turn followed by a front step. Then, I return to facing A and repeat.
Back heel turn to back step; front heel turn to front step. I orient my gaze and stance accordingly to the target.
If you're having difficulty with the front heel turn, return to the pinball paddle fundamental motor movement to develop fluency. We build the curriculum in a particular order to have the scaffolding for all subsequent movements. Always reference the LMA table of contents to see the order of the modules.
The heel turn movement and concept is critical for kicks, footwork, and wayfinding (the method of constantly reorienting to your target).
