I hope everyone is enjoying April so far~! Okay, long story... Well, on April 1 Rikki and I ended up spending time at both Urgent Care then ER. Since that last Friday he was fighting a fever bouncing from 99º to 100.8º that just didn't want to go away. On Saturday night he had another long 13 hour arrhythmia attack that went as high as the 150's BPM. The concerning factor was he also had chills off and on, but no other typical flu-like symptoms. By Monday, I finally got him to go to Urgent Care around 4PM , but all they did was give him some antifungal for oral thrush, and had him take a urine test, that wouldn't be diagnosed until the next day. His fever was still showing at 99º. They suspected a UTI, but still sent him home without any antibiotics. However, by 9PM his arrhythmia started to kick in again, only this time it spiked all the way to 192BPM. We went straight to ER, and they were able to get him a bed within 15 mins. and hooked onto a fluid drip and antibiotic drip right away. Long story short, his URI had turned septic, and he ended up staying overnight at the hospital until 6PM the next day. The good thing out of all this besides them saving his life, was meeting the same heart specialist he saw in December again. This time they want to seriously move forward with him seeing an electrophysiologist to start taking about ablation surgery. Right now it's all about sorting out insurances. The doctor says ours should cover it. This surgery is something we feel he should have had long ago. And this latest ER/hospital stay is something we wish to avoid ever happening again. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting to see a hand specialist at the end of this month. I'll be getting another bloodiest this week to see how my hormone & sugar levels are doing. However, I also need to discuss my misdiagnosis from the rheumatologist and the bloodwork I took for him a ew weeks ago. Last week I received a letter saying I was negative for lupus and autoimmune disease, but when I checked my results on-line at the lab's patient website, it said I was positive to autoimmune disease and possibly lupus, and further tests were recommended. So, there's that. Next week I see my primary care physician to discuss this matter. I ended up double checking the paperwork more closely that was sent along with the rheumatologist's letter, and on the last page of results the same information was there stating a positive, not a negative. So my guess is he had an assistant look over the results and either didn't read it thoroughly or didn't understand it. Point is the information was there and so there was no excuse not giving me the correct diagnosis. I just want correct answers so I can start treating my hands properly, and I've already waited over 4 months with this aching, stiff-trigger finger condition trying to get the proper doctor to treat me. ( Sorry not meaning to sound so ranty. )Okay, now back to more silly fun stuff in kitty comic-land. Thank you, everyone who has been so patiently following us~!
