Rikki's ablation surgery as a success and he's been resting and recovering these past 2 weeks. But, we almost weren't sure he was going to have it because of the crazy intense fires that were in the area. Our area in So. Pasadena was part of the red flag zone as well as the Arcadia hospital where Rikki had his surgery and one night hospital stay. Luckily, by Saturday afternoon when we went home the red flag alerts had lifted in our areas. But, even in the hospital room where he stayed you could smell the faint smell of smoke. I mostly wore my mask while they're visiting. All the doctors and nurses and staff were most kind to us. Thankfully they gave him a single room with its one bathroom to recuperate in. They even brought me in a reclining chair to nap by his hospital bedside. We had been there since 6AM to check him in and then he had surgery prep and by 9AM his surgery began. They finished just around 1PM. The most ominous thing I saw there was looking out his hospital window later that night, I could see the faint flare ups of the Eaton fire on the distant hillside. Sadly, we found out later that several friends had lost their homes, and it broke our hearts. Thank goodness we are networked closely so that we can help each other out if need be. Our hearts are with the Altadena and Pacific Palisades community. We are LA strong and I know like a Phoenix, they will rise again from their ashes.
And January isn't over yet! Any day now, Rikki and I are expecting a new nephew from our sister in law Peggy (Rikki's brother Robert's wife). I'll try to update more here soon! Please take care and be safe~ thank you everyone here on Patreon for all the love and support~!
