Hurray~! And here we are all caught up until Wednesday Jan. 31~! For those of you still here, Thank you so very much~! Rikki and I really appreciate you as our Patreons. My huge apologies for not posting anything here throughout the holidays ( these past few months! ) I've been having some trouble with my immune system since my radiation treatments back in Oct./Nov. 2022. Aaaaand, so...this last November (2023) I got sick with a reoccurring sinusitis and had to take antibiotics. The first batch gave me a horrible rash after only 5 days, so I ended up quitting them. I seemed to get better for a week and half, and then travelled to Ohio Galaxy Con with Rikki as guests. Then after our convention at Ohio it came roaring back. BUT~ Galaxy Con Ohio was great though! We had a fun con and met up with a lot of fan/friends we hadn't seen in a long while. I'm so thankful to everyone who stopped by our table to say hi and buy stuff, etc. We hadn't been to Ohio since 2019 for OhayoCon! It was nice to be back in the area again. <3 Still missing many of our Ohiyocon friends! We are wishing them all the best. <3 <3 <3 Back to the medical madness... the craziest thing that happened was, the weekend before Christmas Rikki had a bad Arrhythmia attack and I had to take him to ER where he spent all day stabilizing. And then he spent a night being monitored and another full day taking tests at the hospital. He's doing MUCH better by now, and thankfully he was wearing a monitor during the Afib episode so his doctors could clearly see how it unfolded. At ER the staff said they recorded his BPM at 212, but his Heart Doctor said the device actually recorded his highest BPM at 231! Yikes! I'm so glad I got him to the ER without him passing out. Later that week on Friday, I was still struggling with sinusitis and finally caved and went to Urgent Care. I'm guessing between all the stress of being sick and taking a ton of OTC medications, my blood pressure went as high as 200/90, and settled at 180 range by the end of the visit. I was given a new prescription of antibiotics for ten days, and this time they didn't cause any horrible rashes or hives. They also gave me a nose swab to ID what pathogen I had, because I wanted to be sure I was taking the right medications for it. They also gave me another prescription to lower my blood pressure. Well... I only took that for 2.5 weeks before THAT started making me feel terrible. I had to stop taking it because coupled with the blood pressure medication I was already taking, it was too strong. A few days later the Urgent Care doctor called me back to confirm yes, it was a bacterial infection; Haemophilus influenzae! So glad I got it treated before it got any worse. So, I made sure to take all my 10 day supply of antibiotics. The day after I finished my medications I still didn't feel great. I was also continuing the nose spray for its full 15 day course, so I assumed I'd feel better when I got closer to finishing up that. But, I started to get concerned when I developed a low grade fever that went as high as 101.00...that didn't seem right. And I was getting chills for 2 nights in a row. By that Tues. I felt weak, started to get horrible hot-flashes, and nearly passed out 3 times before calling Rikki home from his Improv class. He took me to ER and they took my blood and gave me, tests, X-rays and EKG, and the entire time I'm thinking something horrible like, the bacteria was antibiotic resistant and I was going to need an IV, etc. But, no! I HAD COVID! My stupid covid test came back positive. Fantastic. Then that took another week to fully get over. Then Rikki went to Albuquerque two weeks ago for a celebrity con and came back with a head cold. Took me a full week, but I finally caught that too. So far it's mild, but still annoying. We just want to be well for the new year~! I certainly hope we get over this soon! In a few weeks Rikki and I will be at Emerald City Comic Con at the Artist Alley. Hope to see you there~! <3 <3 <3
