the plot must go on! lol you'll see, the writing doesn't make sense but why? Twice Brain has done something out of character. he took out Cobra thentold our guys to go get Midnight

Just a sidenote - Cobra isn't dead, despite Natsu's line. That was an unfortunate case of bad dubbing, in the original version he just says "Cobra..." instead of "he's gone". The dub of this show is overall great but there can be the occasional odd choice like that.

Natsu did lose to cobra, however, Natsu's Dragon Slayer power was superior. Natsu lost because of Cobra's mind reading, but in the brief period where Natsu turned off his mind and attacked on instinct, he was easily overwhelming Cobra. I am guessing that this is what Brain meant by saying Cobra lost. Natsu is incredibly strong, its just that his power in battle is incredibly inconsistent because he is rarely fighting at his potential.

Yeah I agree that it wouldn’t really be a spoiler to tell you when this arc’ll end - its plot line wraps up at about episode 68/69, and what follows for about the next 5ish episodes is a filler arc that I, and I say this as a big fan of Fairy Tail, would genuinely suggest skipping over completely. I’m not sure what your other patrons’ opinions will be in that regard though.

Think things through before getting pissed and saying things that could be wrong please. How do you know Brain could just have an infinite amount of people. For all you know he could only have the 5 he has now. He is a bad guy and is always looking to upgrade a weak link... Your rants like this kinda get to me sorry to say and make me stop watching or skip over...

The thing is with Fairy Tail it has some awesome moments but at times things do drag.

Honestly, i still think taking out Cobra to replace him with Natsu is a very questionable choice. You have a valid point that he might have a limit on the amount of ppl. However he already lost several members, so he already had "free slots" to fill up. Aside from the fact, that Cobra was way stronger than Natsu (imo), he only got severe damage from the "plot dragon roar" of Natsu, so it was a compatibility topic that he got any notable damage at all. Even if brain didn't realize that, Cobra was just finishing Natsu off, so Brain should still assume that Cobra won. Now you could argue that Brain thinks that Natsu has more future potential for being a "real" dragon Slayer (Brains words), but i think replacing any of the other 3 (Hot eyes, Angel or Racer) would still be the logical choice. Ofc there are more potential reasons for Brains action. Taking out an Oracion Seis Member removes one of the lines on his face (Maybe thats a positive he wants?) Also if its some kind of mind control, he might not have "5 slots", but only 1 and Cobra was the only one he used it on, so he couldn't replace anybody else. But these are ofc just baseless assumptions. But anyways, i personally didn't mind her ramblings :)

Fairy tail has tons of great things going for it, but regretfully side characters/ side villains are not one of them (for me). Too many of them are too bland / over the top stupid and silly, to take them even remotely seriously. Gladly it has enough positive points to make up for it :)

I agree with her take tbh, I was never a fan of that moment. If he needs to limit himself to 5 members, Angel and Racer were already out and Hoteye had betrayed them. Brain taking out Cobra was some massive plot armor for Natsu, and it would’ve made much more sense writing-wise for Jura and the others to arrive first to finish off Cobra before Brain showed up. Cobra was dominating that fight and Brain saying he was beaten made no sense, Natsu turned off his brain and got a few hits in yes, but Cobra recovered from that surprise very quickly and started wiping the floor with him again. Then there was the scream, but Cobra wasn’t even down from that. I know the point of that moment was to show Cobra (and the audience ofc) that Brain couldn’t care less about any of them, but there could’ve been better ways to indicate that, the show itself has conveyed that message better in other instances. And I’ve seen others mention that maybe a part of Brain could have a reason for wanting his own members to go down, and I get what you’re referring to, but if that’s the case then why try to replenish his ranks with Natsu?
